DR Jose re: SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.
What did you think of it?
I was so annoyed in the middle of wed's show as i gather were many many others re: natalie.
That was just crap. I also felt so bad for alex the ballet dancer. But he probably should have found that out first. And i agreed with mary murphy re: natalie's friend, the black guy whose name escapes me right now. He was so good. ANd mia and little c were being so rude to him!
I love the Vegas shows. BUt they are always disappointing because so many people we end up loving from the auditions get cut for no apparent reason. And there are probably 10 people who made it who i have never seen before. What is that about???
With the way they edit these shows -- and with the time limits for these shows -- it's hard to really know who should be in the Top 20 cause they don't show and/or feature everyone. Mia had gotten on that guy in an earlier critique, so I'm wondering if he did something to tick her off during the rehearsals of the dance she choreographed in Vegas -- and it sounded like it wasn't so much his dancing but his attitude for her (she used some word like cocky or arrogant when getting on him -- and when it was announced he had enough votes to go into the Top 20, she made a comment about seeing what happens when they get into the same room together -- makes me wonder if he didn't do her steps the way she wanted or somehow insulted her sensibilities) and Lil' C has never come across as mean spirited before (whereas Mia can be a crumudgeonette at times) so maybe the guy has some 'tude (dare I say diva) issues they didn't like -- or ...
more likely it was scripted to create some drama and some hype for the guy (maybe he's the one they're gonna pimp this year -- like Debbie Allen's student last year that they kept gushing over and saying after each time he danced that he was Debbie's student -- so maybe they think if they reverse the tactic and make it look like Mia's picking on him, the public will become protective of him and vote for him) ... hey, I'm just saying ...
reality is in the eye of the editor, I mean, producers!
