Angela Lansbury for "Blithe Spirit"!  And a standing O!

Gad you stuck with us, DR Jose. I love all the insider information!

You're most welcome, DR edisaurus.

And, again, it's nice to have you back with us for a bit.  And I hope your "environment" improves over the next couple of days.

Things were decided yesterday that will have some impact, but I won't know how much or whether I will chose to continue on until tomorrow. Thanks to all for always being welcoming!

Mamma Mia terrible - worst I've ever seen, especially after the energy of the film version.

Shrek was middling at best.  Especially the "blocking" in the scene portion.  After the terrible things I've read about the choreography, it wasn't too bad.

I'd like to stay and read the West Coast reactions live, but it's just too late for me.

Thanks for a swell party, bk, and good night to one and all!!

Yikes!  They not only started the music over the "Next To Normal" acceptance speech, they actually cut off the mics!  How rude! >:(

The number from West Side worked better on TV than in the theater, and too bad the gal cracked her final Tonight note - of course, it was a little weird inserting the ending of Tonight where it didn't belong.

Actually, I didn't think it would be possible given the low attendance these days, but we could conceivably end up in our top ten posting days.  Another thirty posts or so.

Oh, Shrek-mhrek!  I am tired of the Disneyification of Broadway, I'm tired of rock 'n' roll songbooks becoming Broadway shows.  I'm tired of needless revivals of tired old musicals that have been revived hundred of times.  You want to revive something...how about Hazel Flagg?  Something we haven't seen for awhile.  The Bush era was the perfect time for a revival of Li'l Abner.

I haven't heard the other scores, save for Billy Elliot - while I think I'd probably enjoy the show, I didn't like the cast album at all.  Shrek sounds bad, so maybe Next To Normal is the one.

Yes, we surely did not need another revival of Guys and Dolls.

Maybe she's dyslexic.  I still think she and Jane Fonda could give their plastic surgeons' phone number to Stockard Channing.
