TOD:

I rear-ended a car this morning. So, there we were alongside the road and slowly the other driver got out of his car. You know how sometimes
you just get soooo stressed and little things just seem funny? Yeah, well I couldn't believe it.... He was a DWARF!!!

He stormed over to my car, looked up at me, and shouted, "I AM NOT HAPPY!!!"

So, I looked down at him and said, "Well, then which one are you?"

And that's when the fight started.....

Aww, poor Miss Dixie Bell. I hope the vet has a quick and inexpensive solution.

DR Elmore, I did that once. I left the eggs simmering and left the house for quite some time. I don't think they exploded -- I didn't find egg everywhere. They just had big holes in them. And the pan was ruined.

Miss Dixie Bell needs all the vibes we can muster:  her left hind leg has gone out on her, the vet thinks it is only a torn ligament and put her on a stronger anti-inflammatory.  She has all her energy and her cold wet nose, she's just not putting any weight down on that leg.

To answer my own question from last night:

The three Billy's were NOT the youngest performers ever to win Tonys.  That distinction belongs to Frankie Michaels [young Patrick] who won for Mame in 1966 at the age of 10.  Daisy Egan was 12 when she won in 1991 for The Secret Garden.

And Larry will be younger than springtime when he wins his.

I spent today working the score of THE PRODUCERS.  Since I have a sort of strangely bifurcated role, in that I'm picking up the bulk of the "other instruments" with a synth for performances, it's fun to just play the boom chuck parts for piano in preparation for our first actual, honest to goodness rehearsal tomorrow.

I did play the most opulent private party I've done in many a year on Saturday night.  It's a nouveau riche Persian emigree couple who have built themselves a 20,000 SF (no I'm not kidding--or exaggerating) coral pink stucco manse with colonnades and minarets galore.  When I got there to set up, the husband was screaming at the wife in Farsi.  I thought he was actually going to haul off and smack her.  Then he turned his attentions to me and was quite upset I had brought my own chair.  He wanted me to sit in this leather throne like device he had on his patio.  I explained to him that first, it was too high, and second, it's rather difficult to play piano in a soft chair with big wooden arms that stick out about two feet, keeping the seat well back from the keyboard.

DR Sam:  Very sorry about your father.

I was lucky last week, when my own father and stepmom were able to visit us for a few days.  It may turn out to be the last time I will see him.  Between that, and your sad news, I am reminded to treasure the moments we have.

Loving thoughts and vibes being sent your way -

Miss Dixie Bell just had a short leash walk, following dinner, she used the hind leg a bit more than earlier today; still she cut the walk short herself.
Once inside, she tracked down her ball (which she rarely plays with) and played on the floor with me for ten minutes.
She seems to be feeling better than her humans about her condition.
We thank you for the vibes so far and for the vibes which will continue.

I don't think I can tell my favorite joke here, however.

But, I'll try to keep it as cleaned up as possible:

Who knows the difference between a Reuben sandwich and a consensual sexual act?

No one?
You're much lunch date tomorrow.

I'm bummed. I thought that concert with Malcolm Gets was last night at the Triad but i was wrong. When I got home, I sent the conductor a message. He's not responded, and I don't know when this this concert is happening.

That's too bad, Elmore, but what a coinkydink!  I just got Malcolm Gets' solo CD delivered to me, here at work.  I'm going to listen to it right now. :)
