OH!

And I somehow managed to score another pair of tickets to Twelfth Night in Central Park tonight.  And, I believe I'm going to see it again. Tonight. So, I'll be heading back down to The Delacorte in a few.

Oh...

While I was at Columbus Circle, a young boy came up to me, asking me if I could call his father for him.  He said his father was supposed to pick him up earlier.  He had the number written down on a piece of paper, and I called it.  -I was not going to give him my phone.  I asked the boy what his name was and what his father's name was. His father answered the phone. I told him that his son was waiting for him. He said that he was on his way.  I passed that info onto the boy...  And then he went into the subway.  Hmmm...

*I did do a reverse look-up of a number, and it's linked to some business in New Jersey, so, if "something" happens, at least I know it's trackable to an extent.

It used to be Aron's I think, at least for CDs.  And he had a neighborhood place where he used to get advance copies of just about everything new he wanted. It closed, I think.

Now it seems it's Amoeba.

Well, I guess it's a good thing, then, that you didn't give the boy your cell phone.      :)

Amoeba.

Actually, that's what I call the last cookie when I make shortbread cutouts.  There's not enough dough to roll out to cut, so I just smash it free-form and call it the "amoeba."  It's usually eaten by one of my taste-testers (Richard or Rob) while it's still warm.  Once in a great while, when I'm here alone, I get to eat the amoeba myself.

Lordy, whoever designed the Criterion LAST YEAR AT MARIENBAD BD packaging needs to have his/her head examined.  It took me about 20 minutes to pry the BD case out of the slipcover, and that was only after I got a hemostat (no joke).

DR TCB...   you asked about my reaction to the news about Chastity.  First surprise, I suppose.

Well, I am hoping Chastity will be better looking as a man, as a woman, she is a dog!

She should have done it twenty years ago.  Who willingly becomes a 40 year old overweight gay male?

Not if he prefers women.

I saw this segment on a TV show a few years ago where these men being interviewed were male-to-female transgendered.  They felt that they were born in the wrong body, they had surgery to correct everything to become women, but they were (before AND after the surgery) attracted to and were in relationships with other women.  They became lesbians.

Thank you.  That would have been the only reason I would have tuned in, and now I won't.

Kristin Scott Thomas to star in 'A Little Night Music'

PARIS (AFP) — British actress Kristin Scott Thomas is to star in the first French production of Stephen Sondheim's hit Broadway musical "A Little Night Music", Paris' Chatelet Theatre said Friday.
The award-winning musical, inspired by the Ingmar Bergman movie "Smiles of a Summer Night", is scheduled to play at the Chatelet from February 15 to 19, 2010.
The 49-year-old actress, who lives in Paris, will play the part of prominent actress Desiree Armfeldt, a role held by Eva Dahlbeck in the Bergman film, Glynis Johns in the 1973 Broadway musical, and Elizabeth Taylor in a 1977 movie based on the musical.

I knew a drag queen in Dayton, OH, in the 1970s. is name was Billy and he went to school with my brother Macbeth. He played the gay club circuit in Dayton with this huge boa constrictor and used to show up at parties escorted by big burly black ex-cons. After I moved to New York, I heard Billy had become a transexual and was now a lesbian.

DR Ginny, I turned Jose's invitation for TWELFTH NIGHT again!!! because you and Richard were thinking about going. No turning back now, or I shall be really pissed.

If I remember correctly that film is not worth all your effort. Or am I thinking of HIROSHIMA MON AMOUR?

As difficult to watch as both of those are, they're two of my faves, actually.

YIKES!  DR Elmore, if you have another chance in the next 2 weeks, please, please take it, because I'd hate for you to miss Twelfth Night if it rains the whole week we're there or something.

I'd also hate for you to be really pissed at me... :-*

Yup...surprised the heck out of me!  They said (which is true) that gender identity and sexual preference are two separate and distinct aspects of a person.
