About lies and work.

I figured out that if I just tell my boss the truth, he goes away and leaves may alone a lot more.  The guys in the shop who always say they didn't do it or they don't know what happened, get caught in arguments that go on forever.   Who needs that.

Sam, we haven't quite announced the new CD yet.  As always, it will be announced here first, although those who listened to last week's radio show already know what it is.  It's a terrific score to a really fun movie from the 1960s.

Dear Cillaliz,

Please come and visit me.

LOL. I'd love to visit you sometime, but once I get this house painted, I think I'll be retiring my paintbrush.  I am so ready to get the main floor of my house painted. Not sure why I did the upstairs and most of thebasement first.

Dear Cillaliz,

Please come and visit me.

;D

*Actually, maybe you should pay me a visit here in NYC.  Or at least my apartment.  The handyman prepped the walls for a new paint job about two weeks ago and said he would be back the next day to paint.  Well... :-\

hmm,  maybe I should trade free lodging for painting a room.... That could be fun

I'm going to my 30 year class reunion the end of the month, but other than that...not traveling for awhile.  I do have enough points to get a free ticket on United and think the points expire at the end of the year, so I'll probably go somewhere this fall.

I've had a difficult time getting on line the last couple of days

From yesterday re; West Side Story

The last special edition of West Side Story with 2 discs and a book. There is a documentary.

It shows clips of Russ Tamblyn singing with Robert Tucker's voice and his own. Also there is clips of Natalie Wood singing in her own voice.

Rita Moreno does sing on some songs but is dubbed in A Boy Like That. Moreno talks about that she doesn't like Betty Wand's dub as it doesn't match her emotion. She sings nicely.

I guest the balance of the jets use there own voices.

The Kevin and Sean show is waiting on Kevin and Sean - we need to go to the next step, which is the mastering, but they've been too busy to start that ball rolling.  I'm hoping by September we'll have it available.

BK, do they know that there are fans on your own website who are waiting with great anticipation for the DVD?? :D

The Billy Wilder film that I have always wanted to see but never have is the

Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (or something like that) and from what I've read that is was cut and mangled by the Studio/distributor.

But the original version was supposed to be fantastic. But I have never seen it because I don't want to see the cut version.

But the ones I have seen and liked the most

Some Like It Hot (#1 favorite)
Lost Weekend
Sunset Blvd (#2 Favorite)
Fortune Cookie
Witness For the Prosecution

Front Page (Though a lot of people don't like this version. Carol Burnett's performance is all wrong)

Avanti! (I always thought that Bernard Slade got his idea for Same Time Next Year from this play/film)

Seven Year Itch (fun but it doesn't quite work. Too stage bound)

and others I like but are not favorites

Sabrina
Stalag 17
1, 2, 3

He co-wrote Ninochka which I love

Just finished watching act two of the benefit - really a wonderful show all the way around.  Of course, the one performer who caused me to turn into a blubbering fool was Michelle Nicastro - so much history there, and she, despite all her terrible health problems of the last few years, is still so beautiful and then she opens her mouth and sings the first song we ever recorded together (Part Of Your World) and it's just so moving.

I had no idea that Michelle had any health problems.  I found THIS article about her and the company that she started after her recovery.  Quite the inspirational story. :)
