Last night, DR JRand wrote:

"Very funny response from Ms Stritch....which reminds me of her comment after Michael Bennett got mad at everybody, jumped onstage, and demonstrated exactly how he wanted the COMPANY to do "Side by Side."

That's great, Michael....she said.....but you only had to do it once....we have to do it eight times a week."

When I did that show, "Side by Side" was indeed THE most exhausting number. I loved doing it, but boy was I glad every night when it was over.

I have selected by viewing for another day off.

I'm going to watch TARZAN AND THE SLAVE GIRL, the next in the Lex Barker/Tarzan series. (I'm doing them in the order of production).

Next will be HOLLYWOOD CAVALCADE (so I can put away the Warner Homefront Collection box).

And the Blu-ray of the day will be CONQUEST OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.

Of course, I have THE FASHION SHOW to watch while I eat lunch, and I'd like to watch another VERONICA MARS episode today, too.

So, I should have a busy day today culminating in tonight's prime time line-up!

I have always loved FIELD OF DREAMS. It wrecks me every time I watch it. I think there's a connection with men and their fathers in the movie that just speaks to us.

I guess I'll toddle on downstairs, get laundry ready for washing, and then start thinking about what's for lunch.

Except....

I forgot to say, "Good morning"!

We're going to have a hot day today, but there is a chance of rain today and an even better chance of rain tomorrow. Maybe it might cool things down from an expected high of 90 today.

It's the first breakfast I've cooked at home in a while, in a long overdue while:

Eggs (over-easy), prosciutto (gently crisped in the pan with the eggs), pumpernickel bagel, coffee (1/2 French Roast, 1/2 Columbian Decaf). All quite delicious, eclectic and international. ;)

*Next time, I may have to make sure to have some pesto on hand to go with the eggs and prosciutto, but, even on it's own, the prosciutto was damn tasty.

As for "Field of Dreams" - I think that Kevin Costner's acting - and acting career - peaked in that movie. At least for me.  After that movie, I think he started to believe all of his own hype and publicity which had started the year before after "Bull Durham" (and "No Way Out").  -And I don't think I've ever made it through "Dance With Wolves" without nodding off a few times.  Horse racing.

Thanks for all the Birthday Greetings!!  Shortly after I woke up, I got a phone call from my parents and my sister and bro in law who are visiting them.  They sang Happy Birthday in 4 part harmony.

Right now I'm waiting for Edith and her husband.  They are stopping over to look at the countertops he's going to help me remove (saving over $450) we won't do it today, but he wants an idea of what we'll have to do.

Then we're going to a new Mexican restaurant in South Sioux City NE that advertised they specialze in Pollo Asado de estillo Sinaloa.   I don't know what the Sinaloan style of grilled chicken is, but we're going to check it out.  They also have the huge burritos, so I'm sure I'll find something yummy.

Let's see. Then I'll go pick out my replacement mattress.  I am so glad I decided to check on the warranty for the old one.

That's a great setting - which my present camera does not have.  It compensates for lower-light settings and bumps up the contrast just a little bit.  Perfect for food porn.

DR Cillaliz - "Estilo Sinaloa" usually means the marinade includes tomatoes, lime juice and sometimes Worcestershire sauce.  But that's usually meant for seafood.  Or it could just mean that the cook is from Sinaloa too. ;)

Okay I am behind the time and basically have ignore it until now.

What is exactly is twitter?

Is is a computer thing or does it work as a text messaging on your cell phone? And what exactly is the purpose behind it?

The short answer: Twitter is micro-blogging. You only get 140 characters for each post, update, "Tweet".

The other short answer: Just go to "twitter.com" and check out the "Public Timeline".

And the other short answer: It's like Facebook status updates on crack. ;)

I'm up - blessed silence this morning - I slept through the night, but had very strange dreams, all of which had to do with yesterday's odd feelings.

Good morning, all! I slept quite poorly last night; the storm was fun but my allergies were in high gear and no matter what meds I took, nothing seemed to clear out my nose and lungs. I believe I've pulled a muscle in my back - at least I hope it's a muscle and not a kidney infection or appendicitis or something awful - and I've been in a lot of discomfort. All said, I got to sleep some time after 2 am, and I was wide awake at 7:30 am. That means tonight around 9 I will be ready to pass out and hopefully sleep soundly. Tomorrow is a very busy day.

This morning I am off to Toyland. I want to finish up something I started yesterday and to pick up some things I forgot to bring home with me. When I get back, I have an invoice to send and some work cluttering my desk.

I'll check in from Toyland.

HEALING VIBES TO ELMORE!

(elmore, aren't you a little old to be pulling a muscle in bed?)
