So, the printer repair company just emailed me to inform us that they are canceling our service contract because the printer is too expensive to repair.

LOL :D

DR Sam, reminds me of when I lived in Arizona.  The complexes back then would offer a month free or 3 months free rent or something like that if you signed a 1 year lease.  So, it made sense to move nearly every year.   I was relieved when I bought a place that I didn't have to worry about that anymore

Hi Sam.

Jane, they are giving us notice they are canceling the contract. The offer for a new machine they made today is MUCH better than the offer they made in November.

That is something.  Will you take it?  I wonder if another company would give you a "trade in" discount on the old machine to get your business.

Hi George

Hi Sam...bye Sam.  I'm off to my parents' house to finish putting together the rolling cart for their kitchen.  I went over on Monday, but one part was made incorrectly and wouldn't fit.  My mom went back to the store where she got it (the PX at Fort Lewis) and they were able to just open another box and swap out the part.  Now, we'll see if this new part is correct.

Until later!

I think it might be time for the weekly big jobs to go to Kinko's or something.

Had a very enjoyable evening of entertainment.

I began with the Blu-ray of THE ROAD WARRIOR. Of course, that was the title here though that title is nowhere to be seen on the movie. It's under its original name MAD MAX 2.

I didn't really get the movie when I first saw it all those years ago. I hadn't seen the first movie, of course (few had), and this just seemed a series of chases. Today, of course, we're used to a movie that's a series of chases, but it seemed pretty odd and pointless to me back then. Now, I can admire the great stunt work and the whole ambiance of that desolate future time.

Not a great movie at all, but certainly a fun one, and it's barely 90 minutes, so it passes by quickly.

Next, I watched that two hour documentary on the making of GONE WITH THE WIND (disc 3 in the four disc set). Hadn't seen it in quite some time, and it was nice to revisit it.

On that third disc in the GWTW DVD set is also a documentary on the remastering of the disc using Ultra-Resolution for this particular release. I watched that, too. (It was only 18 minutes.)

I believe if I have another day off tomorrow, I'll rewatch all of GONE WITH THE WIND. I haven't watched the whole thing in a long, long time, and with it coming out on Blu-ray later in the year (an expensive deluxe edition I likely will not buy), I figure I need to get my money's worth out of this set before I even think about the HD version (which I might consider if there is a sale with a healthy discount OR if Warners comes out with a single disc release a year form now - like they're doing with CASABLANCA in September.)

And I brought my evening of viewing to a conclusion with tonight's season premiere of LEVERAGE. Very enjoyable reuniting of the team on an OK caper. (Next week's promises to be better.)

Charles Martin Smith was the top billed guest star, and the fellow who played the head of the mob has been guest starring this season on RESCUE ME as the older brother of Probie Sean.

First I want to thank DR Jose for his continued interest in the play.

I emailed the actor who I have written the play for and he reminded me that other than the one man conceit the plays are different. My main character is not on the phone all the time. He also went on to name several off broadway shows that had the same conceits and were succesful

I ha a very productive evening of writing. Some new material, some revised and some dropped.

BUT
I know, just know, that one scene which is almost five pages and is one very long monologue. It probably will be trimmed down. At the reading on Saturday I think I will know right away what needs to be fixed. But then again I might surprise myself what might work and what won't work

This is very exciting I have not had a play I wrote performed in over 15 years. I love the creative process from the writing to the readings (more writing) and then production,

You're welcome, DR Michael S.  It's just always good for a playwright to know, to be aware of other writer's work - whether or not they are similar to their own.
