Yes, years ago I was very interested in writing a book about the singers who dubbed many of the Hollywood greats in movies down through the years. Some, of course, were well known and even sometimes got screen billing while others were completely obscure. But I realized that

(a) the scope of the book was going to be far bigger than I had time to deal with it at that stage of my life,

(b) the saleability of such a book would be miniscule.

After I abandoned it, I noticed that it had partially been done by others (WHO SANG WHAT IN HOLLYWOOD) or was being currently worked on by folks who had been researching and interviewing for years. So, I'm hopeful of seeing such a book eventually. I have always found the whole subject fascinating.

Matt, there is not still not a really definitive (let alone accurate) book on the subject.

Bruce-- did you ever list the performers in the "What IF" videos?  Good group of people.  Who did the choreography for the revue?

Yes, if you go back to youtube.com/haineshisway - all the info is there, including the choreographers.

Good Morning! Good Afternoon!

I'm up, I'm up... And I only have three more items left for sale from my Craigslist posting yesterday!  -I practically got into a bidding war for the food processor.  Instead, it went to the first person to race up to my apartment this morning.

And I have to say, that this batch of buyers - for the stuff I listed on Craigslist - have really been great.  The young woman who came by this morning is starting a new diet, lifestyle routine, and she wanted to get things started off right by having the right tools for all the food prep she will have to do.  She had never dealt with a food processor, nor with baking stones, so I was also able to give her a quick "basics" lesson.  -The most important one being: when washing the blades for the food processor, WEAR GLOVES! Those blades are sharp!

It's just nice knowing that the people who bought my stuff will actually be using them.  -Especially since I never used some of the items over the past three or four years.

Did a quick grocery run and made pancakes at home this morning.  Carbs be darned!  And Renaissance choral music in the background.  What could be better?

Maybe if "this" was in your kitchen making the pancakes for you:

As for The Topic du Jour...

I still have a pending offer for a book about auditioning, auditions, and how I manage to keep my sanity(?) - and a straight face - while playing auditions.

I wrote a long essay during my senior year in high school, which, I think will eventually get expanded into a longer form.

Oh... And Monkey is also currently in negotiations... So... :)

I never wrote a book, but, I did write a couple of complete plays (in addition to several one-acts), one of which did get produced.
If I did write a book, I suppose it would be about the underground gay scene in Pittsburgh in the 1970s.

DR Jose:

Re your question last night, the remake was not called WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, so in answer to your question, I watched what I said I watched.

;)

Something told me that that would be your answer. ;)

My very strong advice for anyone who's talked about or thought about writing a book or play is to sit down and DO it - it will be the most rewarding thing ever (as it's been for me) and even if it's not brilliant, that doesn't matter - it's the doing of it, the accomplishment of it, the YOU-ness of it.

Richard and I left Lima separately after church.  He had to make a hospital call on a church member and then visit his brother.  He gave me a reprieve from those visits, so I had lunch at Culver's and came on home.  He will be exhausted, I'm sure, when he gets here.

There's an old WHY DIDN'T THEY ASK EVANS that has, IIRC, Tommy & Tuppence, or at least the actors who played them.

I’m glad Ginny’s DH Richard arrived safely last night & you were both able to get a bit of extra sleep.
