The rain outside falling on the roof added to the ambiance of desiring sleep.

I began the evening watching Kathy Griffin's MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST, pictured above.

Excellent episode, probably one of the emotionally strongest of the season (I teared up a couple of times).

Next I watched three MURDER SHE WROTE episodes in a row so I could complete disc 2 in the set.

The shows were fine, but this is where I began nodding off. One of the episodes taking place in COunty Cork, Ireland, I zoned out about 20 minutes in and woke up in time for Jessica to unmask the murderer.

Another had Richard Beymer running a gambling house in the back of his restaurant. Wings Hauser was a compulsive gambler who was an accountant to Jessica, Seth, and other town bigshots and was using their money to gamble with (and losing). Carrie Snodgress was also part of the guest cast.

The third one found Jessica at the race track with trainer Mickey Rooney working with a horse belonging to Don Murray and Tippi Hedren.

All three were easy mysteries to solve, even when I nodded off during part of them.

With that second disc in the set finished, I began watching the Joan Crawford magnum opus BERSERK! I got a little more than halfway through before I turned off everything and headed upstairs for my nightly internet surf. (I also had my work project to upload.)

My friend, Leigh, and I had a wonderful dinner - and catch-up session - at Casellula Cheese & Wine Cafe. Since Casellula features quite a nice selection of cheeses, we let their fromageur, Tia, make a few selections to start off us, and she also selected a nice quartet of cheeses that ended up serving as an intermezzo between our entreés and desserts. I took pictures of the cheeses, but didn't get a chance to any notes. However, they were all quite wonderful. -And the little bits of food that were paired with each cheese were also quite nice too. The lavender panna cotta was particularly outstanding.

As for the entrées, I had the "Pig's Ass" sandwich, and Leigh had the Rabbit Pie. And the desserts... WOW! We had just planned to split a piece of their Chocolate Cake, but then Tia brought over their "Ice Cream Soda" which was made with melon balls, small scoops of vanilla ice cream, and elderflower(!) soda. It was like Summer in a glass! But back to the Chocolate Cake...

On the menu, the cake was paired with "Meadowbrook Farm Cream". Well, when the cake was brought to the table, the waitress also brought along a small bottle of cream, heavy cream. After she set the plate of cake of the table, she then poured the cream over the slice of cake... As I said before... WOW!!

All in all, it was a quite a wonderful evening. After dinner, Leigh and I headed down to Manhattan Plaza to pay a visit to a stage manager friend of hers. And we proceeded to drink a few more glasses of wine, as well as snack on a few items from Amy's Bread.

Oh, and his apartment is on the 43rd floor, and on the east side of the building. The views of the Empire State Building, and most of southern Manhattan were quite breathtaking. And since the rain had stopped, we were able to enjoy the evening out on his balcony.

That's how the ancient Egyptians used to remove the brains....by running a hook up through the nostril, twirling it around to scramble the matter and then pulling it all out through the nostril.

I don't know about "Six Feet Under" doing it, however.

That wouldn't work for an autopsy-you need the whole brain for macro-examination and then ultimate sectioning for micro-examination.

Which brings up a question I've always had:

Do they perform an autopsy on everyone who dies? Or are some bodies just prepared for burial (embalmed) after they die? -Without further examination to determine the cause of death.

Thanks DR Matt. I'm not really sure what's wrong. I'm feeling a little sick to my stomach, have a bit of a headache and am really tired. I made dinner earlier and that helped for a while, but I'm feeling crummy again so I'm going to go to bed. I really hope it's just a passing thing. I have lots of plans this weekend.

Adam and Sundee made an offer on a house today. They are very excited. It will be their first house if they get it. It's an old house but has been totally redone on the inside. They are really in love with it so I hope they get it
