And now, I must be off.  I need to go to my place and feed my cat, then come back to my sister's and do some more laundry. ;)

Have a good day, all!!

I am watching four Slasher DVD's that I am to review for SCARLET MAGAZINE and I am about to die myself.....what is most horrifying is to see TWO pages of EXTRAS on these cheap jack, badly acted, worthless....movies (?).....and know I have to suffer through it again and again.

There's nothing on the DVR for me to watch while I eat lunch, so I may go ahead and watch the advanced showings in their respective On-Demand channels of NURSE JACKIE or TRUE BLOOD while I eat.

Matt (or anyone else), I am curious why a network (is it HBO?) would put advance showings in On-Demand.  I can understand having advance showings available for reviewers, but why the general public?  It seems to defeat any hope of accurate ratings.

I'm sure any viewings of the On-Demand choices, especially for paycable offerings, will be forwarded from cable companies to the respective networks for them to figure into the ratings. All DVR recordings of shows are likewise added into the final count for shows. You have to remember in the 21st century that ratings are compiled from more than one viewing experience, especially with cable shows which repeat the shows several times throughout the week. Nielsen calls these advanced ratings "overnight + 7" meaning the premiere airing plus all other airings within seven days of the premiere.

Had a pretty good afternoon. We also had a tremendous rainstorm that lasted a couple of hours. We were running about an inch under the monthly average, but I'll bet that was erased this afternoon.

I watched NURSE JACKIE while I ate lunch. Excellent episode with only two left for its first season. Victor Garber was the guest star playing a snooty movie critic.

This afternoon's work project was called RUSTY KNIFE, and I liked it much more than yesterday's I AM WAITING. Production values seemed a bit higher, too, and the liner notes say that this was a smash hit when it was released in 1958.

Then I pulled out TOY STORY 2 and watched it. It was just a DVD, of course (Blu-ray coming next year), but upconverted in my Blu-ray player, it looked as close to HD as it's possible for a movie to look.

And I like the second one much more than the original film. Those Randy Newman songs in the movie are just great, especially the poignant one about Jessie's loss of her owner's affection as she grew up.

I had a very strange dream last night.  In it, Don Grady and Tina Cole were in a Bollywood movie with Tina Cole doing some "Gumnaam" type numbers.  Somehow my "My Three Sons" (the later seasons) plug got put into my Bollywood hole.

So to speak.

I've got some writing to do, and then I'll head back down to fold the laundry (still in the dryer right now) and then get to my next work project tonight.

Bryan Batt and his partner Tom Cianfichi run a store in New Orleans called Hazelnut.

Not a store I would walk into.  I would be afraid to breathe in there.

Only yesterday I dreamed that I was working with and dating Abhishek Bachchan!  In my dream Abhishek and I were at various places in and around Pittsburgh as well as at my house.  We were apparently getting ready to go to work (whether or not it was a movie or what is unclear).  But, Abhisheck and I were best buds, and Aishwarya Ray was nowhere in sight.

We are back from church in Lima, a visit to our oldest parishioner (she'll be 99 in 2 weeks), lunch at Culver's in Sidney, and a visit to John's room at Hospice of Dayton.

We'll have to be careful what we eat before going to bed.

Well --

Since it seems to be a fairly slow news day here at HHW, I hope people won't mind if I share some photos from yesterday morning's outing...
