Elmore, you are getting the summer storms that WE are supposed to be getting. Not fair!

Well, I hope it cools things down.

It would have cooled us down to around 100 degrees.

Can we knock it off with the rain in New York?  No rain until after I leave!

When I finished writing my review (waited until now to post it), I headed back down and had some comfort food - chocolate ice cream. I had only eaten about 300 calories today, and I no only felt I needed comfort food but something I'd really enjoy eating and would fill me up. It was grand.

Again, I turned to documentaries for comfort, I took out THE WIZARD OF OZ and watched the documentaries on that set's second disc. A couple of the newer ones I hadn't watched before, so that was fun. Nothing new to learn, but it passed the time easily and pleasantly.

I did take a few minutes to scan through today's ATWT, but Luke and Noah weren't on today nor were they in the previews for tomorrow's show.

It turns out that our DVR, as well, missed recording this week's The Closer.  And it doesn't appear to be scheduled to repeat.  One of the first times our machine has failed us in this way.  I suppose someone somewhere forgot to tag this as a NEW episode.      >:(

Think I'll head down now and try to get some sleep. It's been a long, long day.

Good night!

If they do as they've been doing, they'll repeat this week's episode next Monday at 8 p.m. before the season finale episode. Don't know for sure that's going to happen, but it has been their policy up to now.

Ha, ha, Jane, we're only talking dinner and a movie!  It will just be nice to eat in a restaurant that's not in a hospital and watch someone else's drama (Juie and Julia's, probably) for a change.

Ginny, I'm almost done with the book and although I really like it, I liked the movie better.  I think it's a great choice for your dinner and a movie date

Watching Lost, Season Five now - I do hope this entire season isn't going off on all these weird and hard to follow tangents, because it's beginning to be irritating.  And I must say, my least favorite actor on the show is the guy who plays Daniel Faraday - one of these hopeless whispering, mumbling twit actors I can't stomach.  Everyone else talks nice and loud on this show except for this guy and I just want to hurl my shoe at him and say, "Speak up, idiot - the people standing next to you, if they didn't know your lines, would never be able to hear a word you're saying."

Odd, because I never had any trouble understanding/hearing him.  But...for what's worth, Bruce...the 5th Season is my favorite, thus far.  Many developments ahead....!!!!

And now, I'm off.  Off to my sister's.  She bought me a cookie in Portland.

Yippie.

;)

I'm sure it'll be very good.

Until later!

One cookie?  Hope it's a really good one

Have you seen the footage from the studio recording of Solti's Ring, when they played a prank on her and brought the live horse out on the studio room floor?       :D

I'M BEGINNING TO WONDER IF SOMEONE MAY NEED A HEARING AID?

::)

Seriously, some people whisper. Some people talk at a "normal" level.  And others are "loud-talkers".  Whispering is nothing new.

bk - Just keep watching and try not to let it bother you. There could be worse things to dampen your enjoyment of the series, any series.

First was awakened by the car alarm of the cretin who lives across the street.  We live right next to the train tracks, and every time a Metro North diesel train goes by [several times a day], this guy's SUV car alarm goes off.  You'd think he'd be considerate and - oh, I don't know - have the sensitivity level of his alarm system adjusted?  But no, it's easier to make everyone in a several block radius suffer daily.  Then Zach started barking due to the thunder and lighting.  So I guess I'm up for a while.    :)

Truly, Laura DR's and DR Sandra's conversation excerpts could be made into a wonderful book.

Hilarity would ensue.

In today's mail/UPS:

Coraline, Blu-ray
The Last Starfighter, Blu-ray
Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation, Std.
High School Confidential, Std.  (Hey, Mikey!)

High School Confidential is so much fun, and three of my interviewees are in it...Diane Jergens, Jody Fair, and in a very small role, Diana Darrin.
