My camera has decided to work again. Imagine my surprise.

DR Laura - Just how long have you had this camera? Isn't it relatively new?  If so, is it still under warranty?

I didn't buy the extended warranty. I've had it a couple of years. I don't remember.

DR Jose, very nice of the restaurant last night.  Maybe they think you are a restaurant critic ;)

DR Jane - Yes, it was very nice of the staff of the restaurant to take such good care of me last night.  -And, actually, again tonight too.

A couple of weeks ago, I happened to meet one of the managers/partners at... wait for it... The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck.  As we were enjoying our vanilla cones topped with Toasted Curried Coconut and Wasabi Pea Dust - I can't make that stuff up - we started talking about Food, Wine, the restaurant scene in NYC, etc.  She then extended an invitation to me to come check out her restaurant. A few weeks later, I finally made it in for dinner.  It was a great evening.  I kind of left the evening in her hands, and as she brought various plates to the table, she would take a few moments to explain what was placed in front of me. Then, a couple of minutes later, she would come back and ask what I thought about the food. What I really thought about the food.

I've been back a few times since, and even though I've only been there about five times, I already feel like a regular.  She knows I'm not a restaurant critic, however, she does know that I'm interested in Food on more than just the "this tastes good, this tastes bad" level.  I really do appreciate food, and can tell when great care has been put into it's planning and preparation.  -In fact, she told me that I was a "dream customer" last night. :)

OH! That's right.  This was the one that you thought was lost, but was then found. Right?

And now for something completely different, I am about to go to my book group's annual potluck dinner and movie night.  We've read and are watching Revolutionary Road.  That should cheer me up.  Well, at least being with my girlfriends will...

DR Ginny - Umm... Well... If Revolutionary Road ends up cheering you up, well... ;)

I'm glad that you were able to have a day surrounded by family and friends.

As for that picture of Carter Oosterhouse - I won't quote him/it again... Does it look PhotoShop'd to anyone else?

DR Pogue - Yes. All road leads back to Richmond.

Did you and Rick do some actual shows together or just rubbed elbows in the same theatre community?  Did you know Benny Ambush as well?

I don't believe Rick and I ever worked together, but we had worked at the same theatres in Richmond.  As for Benny Sato Ambush, well... I never worked with him, but know very well who he is.  -Anyone who had even just a passing awareness of the theatre scene in Richmond during his tenure at Theatre Virginia would know who he is.  For better or worse.  Sadly, most people only know the "worse".

Oh, and TOD:

Me = Martin Mull
My Grandmother = Marjorie Main
My Dad = Wally Cox
My Mother = Shirley Booth
My True Love = James or Josh Brolin

But then who would play Martin Mull?

Laura -  Thanks for RSVP-ing!

Your comment this A.M. about "adult situations" meaning paying rent & car insurance was met with much merriment here.  Even the dogs were smiling.

Well... I think I'm finally going to meet up with my cousin tomorrow. I hope. We were supposed to meet for lunch today, but then she "suddenly" had plans.  Then we were supposed to meet for dinner, but, again, it turned out she had plans.  Yesterday, she had no plans for today.  In any case...

Goodnight.

I didn't get as much accomplished today as I wanted to, but did get a couple new clients and a couple prospective new clients, so it was a good day.  I have much to do tomorrow before Edith leaves for a week to work on her new house, start  moving etc.  I will have to brush up on my Spanish.  She tells me just to speak it, I know it and I'm only being shy.   So...next week we'll see what happens

Back from a really superb Chinese meal and Plan Nine, which was really odd for reasons I'll explain in the notes.  My breakfast with Juliana has been cancelled - she's under the weather, so we'll do it when I get back from NY.  My NY dance card is starting to fill up, which is fun.
