Well, you've read the notes, the notes were like being in a candy store, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently in a candy store having chocolate moolk.

On my DVR waiting to be watched:  last Sunday's "Defying Gravity" and "Mad Men," as well as the last episode of "Glee"

In my DVD player from Netflix:  "I Love You, Man"

In my CD player at work:  the soundtracks to "Gaily, Gaily" b/w "The Night They Raided Minsky's" and "Bank Shot"

Good morning, all! I got out of bed at 6:30 because I have much to accomplish today. This morning, I want to continue vacuuming, cleaning and putting away all the clutter that was driving me mad. Around 11, I will start preparing myself for the John McGlinn memorial. I want to be at Merkin Hall around 1 pm; I habe lots of things for people I will see there and I need to get my head around exactly what i want to say about McGlinn.

DR George, I believe the three act musical was a remnant of the 3-Act European operetta, and many of Victor Herbert's shows were in three acts, among them BABES IN TOYLAND and THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER. By the 1920s the 2-act form became supreme: DEAREST ENEMY, by Rodgwrs & Hart, was written in three acts, but performed in two, with the short third act called an Epilogue and attached to Act Two.

TOD:
DVD: I think think in this clutter; I know the Netflix items are still here
CD: a lot of John McGlinn, Guy Haines, Liz Callaway
    VCR: this porn is stale

Pretty busy weekend with not a lot of time to watch DVDs.

Tonight we go to temple for Rosh Hashanah services and on Sunday, I drive down to San Antonio to direct a book trailer for ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD.

Perhaps on Saturday, I'll get time to watch MANAGEMENT or more episodes of CSI, Season 9.

Wi-fi on Amtrak. -Which has been in the works for a while now. With the number of business commuters between DC, Philly, NYC and Boston, I'm surprised it's been taking so long to get it implemented.

MEdia Check:

iPod:  More of the Beatles stereo remasters.  Up next is either MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR or SGT PEPPER'S, depending on what came first chronologically.  I also have Carol King's TAPESTRY that has been remastered.

Tivo:  This week's GLEE and PROJECT RUNWAY

DVD: nada

Today would have been John McGlinn's 56th birthday, and we were seven years and one day apart in birthdays. What I find the most amazing in inventorying the McGlinnventory is how similar in music and composers our tastes were. Maybe that'ds why I still prefer his concert presentations of musicals better than anyone else's.
