Then Cason came back with me and we got all the books shipped out with special gift.  You'll find the special gift when you open the book.

That was a big load off.  No mail or packages today.  And now I shall relax until I have dinner with a shiksa on Rosh Hashanah.

Ok, I'm no longer in the shape I was last spring. This morning I did a Race for Hope 5K for our local cancer center in my friend Steve's memory.  I did it in about the same amount of time, but it was a lot more painful, lol.  I've been pretty emotionally exhausted but this let me get physically tired out and I slept all afternoon. I'm a little sore, but I do feel better

DR Jane, sorry I didn't answer you yesterday, Callie seems to feeling better.  Not sure the problem is solved but I'm hoping I don't have to take her back to the vet

We just celebrated DR Elmore's birthday with a festive taco party for dinner.  Wish you'd been here, DR Elmore!

I wish I were, too! I'm having a great day and the festivities continue tomorrow!

Of course, if you were here, we'd also have a Central Pastry birthday cake!

And margaritas!

I would have posted sooner, but I'm guessing I ended up taking a nap just a few minutes after leaving Philly. ;)

Oooh, margaritas! Although, after making the rounds last night in Philly with my friend, Joe, and his friend, Sonja... Well... Let's just say that it's very possible to drink well in Philly's "alternative establishments" for under $20. ::)

*But I had a great time, did not get drunk (just a little buzzed), danced for about two hours straight (so to speak), and woke up this morning feeling fine. :)

bk, glad the book event was such a success.  Who knew that the key to a large turnout is not sending out publicity??          ???

Exactly.  It also occurs to me, DAW, that you could be the first to post an amazon review - in fact, I'd love it if you did that sooner than later.

DR elmore - I'm so happy to hear that McGlinn's Memorial went well yesterday. I hope the rest of your birthday weekend continues to be filled with such ease and happiness. And a margarita. Or two. -But where?!?!

*I can't remember if I've mentioned this before, but... Cafe Edgar opened a second location a few blocks north on Amsterdam.

This has been a great Saturday.  Earlier, I watched the Washington Huskies upset the #3 ranked USC Trojans 16 to 13.  Go Huskies!

Then I finally watched WALL-E, which I loved!

The lengthy telephone calls I was expecting this afternoon happened this evening. So I didn't get the Blu-ray of MISERY watched. That will be one of the items I'll be watching tomorrow during my day off.

I did finish watching the resolution of the murder of the NCIS agent by Ari David which I had started earlier in the afternoon. Very gripping resolution.
