I just heard the UPS man drop something at the front door. I'm assumning this is FLASHPOINT - Season 1. Of course, it doesn't come out until October 13th, so it must wait its turn after MEDIUM.

I just checked. It wasn't FLASHPOINT at all; it was Disney's THE PROPOSAL on Blu-ray. It, too, doesn't come out until the 13th, so it'll have to wait until after I finish MEDIUM (which comes out on Tuesday).

Still waiting for TARAS BULBA in the rainy northwest.

My movie watching has been split between review duties and just plain ol' fun stuff.  Have reviews finished or soon to go live on FIGHTING (horrible), WINGED MIGRATION (absolutely astounding, but with a troubling backstory) and SILVERADO (fun as always, and I love me my Bruce Broughton score!).  For fun (I'm sure this will send Elmore out vomiting on the ground), I've been revisiting VAN HELSING in its BD incarnation.  I actually think the movie is quite a bit of fun, though, boy, are the skin tones odd in this transfer.  I have to go back and see if they looked this way on the DVD.

For you NW-ers, Fred's is having a 30% BD sale, storewide.  I picked up a bunch of stuff, including a ton of stuff that had $10 off coupons for BD upgrades which means I'm only spending a couple of bucks after the rebates to upgrade.

Plus I just found out I can review the Ultimate Collectors Edition of Snow White, which means tax write-off, baby.  :)

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I'm currently watching "The Martha Stewart Show". Today's topic is "social networking", so she's covering texting, Facebook, Twitter, etc.  She's "trying" to show how the technology works in "real time". Alas, this show was taped this past Wednesday afternoon.  Hmmm...

I'm glad that DR Michael S. mentioned the liner notes booklet for the new Streisand CD.   Mine came with NO booklet!  I've just arranged for Amazon to send a replacement.

Well - my SS direct deposit has hit the bank, so I cleared my Amazon cart:

Castle - Season One - a family favorite this year.
Swan Lake - Bourne - we really enjoyed it live in LA
Bank Job (Blu-Ray) *
Doctor Who - Full Circle (Amazon Personal Special)
Snow White (Blu-Ray) (Thanks to JMK for the $10 code) *

Sad - but I'm sick of the naysayers saying the President shouldn't have gone to make a pitch - and now thay are calling him "a loser".

Good Grief - now a talking head on Fox is saying the President has lost the US some World Prestige because he pandered to the Olympic committee.

Well, I for one, am always pleased to see our President doing cheerleading for the good old U.S. of A.

It was a "Damned if he does. Damned if he doesn't" scenario.  -And it's not like he was the only country representative/leader who went to Copenhagen.

The new Mr Hur seems a little scrawnier than Mr Heston, but perhaps they were looking for another Ramon Navarro?

And I'm sure that Ben-Hur was manscaped.  It is to laugh.
