DR Matthew - A red-eye to MCO?  Is it a direct flight?  -And how soon after you land do you plan to be in the Park? :)

Packing clothes took all of 10 minutes.  Now to print documents and such.

Listening to Wildhorn's Draciula as it seems to be on my list of shows to MD next year.  Sounds like Jekyll and Hyde rejects.  Don't get me wrong, I may be the only one around these parts that actually likes Jekyll and Hyde but by listening to Dracula I'm thinking maybe I should chat with the artistic director about the show choice!!!

No, red-eye to Atlanta.  VERY hard to find a direct flight to Orlando from the west coast.  I think we are in at 9:22am.  Our first event is the "Hoop De Doo Revue" at Fort Wilderness Resort at 5:00pm.  I'm hoping we get into our room early so we can get a nap before the show.  (which I've been to and really loved).  Then it's the Magic Kingdom for a few hours afterward.  If we don't get our room when we get there, we'll probably go to Downtown Disney.  I'm looking forward to playing "tour guide" for Eric who has never been before!

Woo Hoo!  Today is my lucky day!   I went to the Lions Club pancake breakfast and bought the usual 6 raffle tickets for $5.  When I got home there was a phone message telling me I won a $100 gift card to HyVee, one of our local grocery stores.  I have to meet them tomorrow to have a photo taken at the store and get my card.  Cool beans.  I like the way October is starting

I've finally made it to Brooklyn and staying with my parents right now. I'll have to go to Times Square for the New York Motor Club impromptu car show and then a trip to see Jason Graae.

We just came back from the People to People orientation meeting.  Gabe was nominated to be a student ambassador with a trip to England, France and the Netherlands next summer.  Betsy and I are of course excited beyond words.  Gabe couldn't care less.  Sigh.

If you're taking the trains in from Brooklyn, be sure to double-check www.mta.info for the service changes this weekend.  It's another one of those "weird" ones where this line is running on that line, and/or not running at all.

Have a great time at the Metropolitan Room tonight with Mr. Graae!

DR Jane, thanks for the vibes.  I've run the numbers and although I haven't heard exactly what she's going to come in with for a final rent price, it's very clear to me we're already in the same ball park and in a range I can live with.  She's already planning on me moving in way before my current lease expires. So although technicaly not a done deal, it really is.

She made it clear she doesn't want me to leave the building and and even said that me moving in there is very good for the whole building (renting a larger space will help their square foot vacancy rate go down and increase the perception that they are a good building to be in- she didnt' say that, but that's what she meant - and she has someone in mind for my current space)

I told her to remember all that when coming up with my rent amount

I remember one trip to Orlando where I arrived at MCO around 8:00am, and I was checked into my room on campus and in the Magic Kingdom by 9:30am!  It was soooo nice having a full day in the parks on my first day there instead of just a half-day.  -Needless to say, I slept very well that first night.

*If they happen to be giving out recipe cards again this year around the Epcot lagoon, well... ;)

There are scholarships available, though I'm not sure we're destitute enough to qualify, LOL.  There are academic scholarships available which I'm sure Gabe would qualify for.  Otherwise, you're on your own to pay for it, though we're more than willing to do that for the experiences it will afford him.

Thanks DR DAW.  I'm excited. Also a little scared about the increased commitment but very excited. Some may think it's a bit premature to make this move, but I really don't.  I'm confident it will pave the way for the future.

While I ate lunch, I watched Thursday night's GREY'S ANATOMY. Shed a few tears and enjoyed the wonderful performance of James Frain who played a schitzophrenic with Adrienne Barbeau as his concerned mother. They were wonderful together.

I watched "Grey's" this afternoon too.  A very good episode, although I thought the "desperation" regarding the hospital merger was a bit overdone - but I think that's just due to the somewhat hazy span of time covered between last week's season premiere and this week's episode.

I also watched the season premiere of "Private Practice"... WOW! What a good episode. The writers have really set quite a high bar for themselves right off the bat for this season. -At least, IMHO.

And as for "Survivor", well... I'm just wondering when and if you-know-who's cover will get blown.  -And, I only say "you-know-who" since I can't remember you-know-who's name right now.

Tell him they have lots of Bernese Mountain Dogs in the Netherlands.

I'm shocked at his reaction.  Congratulations, I'm sure it will be a fantastic trip.  What is the size of the group that will go?
