DR Laura, I see the 2nd monarch returned to your garden :).  Are you keeping a record daily sightings?

Both of them emerged today, Jane. I haven't seen the others. They flew off somewhere.

I believe that is five so far.

Regardless what you may think about Letterman's morals, or lack thereof, everyone must remember that David Letterman IS the victim here. And until further evidence and testimony is put before the public, there are no other victims at this point in/and time.

The woman is also a victim if it is true the pages were stolen from her diary by her then live-in boy friend.

I don't think GOURMET magazine is the only magazine that is ceasing publication. I was in the doctor's office and caught the tail end of the report. They were focusing on breaking news in Florida. But I think they mentioned several different bride magazines were also hitting the sheets.

Condé Nast is also shuttering three or four other magazines, two of which ate spin-offs of "Brides". These are just the latest moves in their current and ongoing restructuring.

*It was also kind of shocking - depressing - to read on Twitter that Gournet's editor, Ruth Reichl, also found out the news this morning with everyone else. They've already started packing up their offices today. :-\

I haven't kept track of the numbers on the tags & didn't realize they were new.  Do you expect many more & did you tag the new ones?

DR Laura - Are you sure that those scientists aren't trying to track you instead of the monarchs? ;)

True. But she was also a victim of Halderman's stupidity and greed, as was Letterman.

I see one more chrysalis out there. But I don't know if there are any chrysalises that are hidden somewhere. I've tagged three, and two got away.

Yes, both are victims.  Unless you thought I meant she was a victim of Letterman, that I have no idea of.

It was a long day at the St James, which housed two Rodgers and Hammerstein shows, OKLAHOMA! and FLOWER DRUM SONG. The morning was really unnecessary for me because it was mostly taken up with squeezing 23 players into the orchestra pit. We had to lose two timpani to accommodate the two horn players and Josh Clayton, the string synth player, is back in the orchestra's green room with a tv monitor. The sond man also spent some time setting up mikes and having the various players run sections of the score for him. When we got back from lunch, we ran the cues we'd never played before and then ran Act one. It was a work session so we'd run a few pages of dialogue and a number, go back and work things, and continue. A lot of time was spent on the magic tricks that Og the leprechaun has to perform. some of them are very funny. It was a good day; I love David Schramm as Senator Rawkins; he reminds me a bit of Foghorn Leghorn.

Musicians, take note!!!!!      :D

I came up with this, which has nothing to do with musicians.  I did learn 2 things I have been curious about.
1.   The 2016 Olympics in Rio will mark the first time an Olympic Games will be held on the continent of South America.  Ever.
2.   The United States of America has been host to the Olympic Games 8 times if you combine both Summer and Winter Games, which is more than any other nation

There is a video on the side of Mike’s blog which does fit the musicians beware statement.b]

That's really quite a superb job of editing, if you ask me.

Can't get the Shane clip to play for some reason.  Looks from the comments that that's probably a good thing.  :)

Watched a rerun of the Leslie Caron interview on TCM this evening.  Her LILI and THE GLASS SLIPPER are on later tonight.  I like both of those movies.

I skipped HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER because it seemed from the promos that it was going to focus a lot on Robin, and that actress, for me, is the weak link in the group.

Awesome photo! The kingbird must have had a nest and felt its young were threatened. It is always amazing to see the smaller birds mobbing the larger birds.
