We will have to read the credits to solve DR EDISAURUS' blind item.

You would have to make an "Executive" decision to do that.

Hmmm...I would think that the last thing that BYE BYE BIRDIE needs to tempt at this point is the Fail Whale.

Discuss as I go get lunch...

Gumnaam March 25, 2003

Gumnaam October 1, 2003

Michael, here are entries from March and October of 2003. The board was still in the old format at that time.

I did a Web search instead of searching through the board. I entered Gumnaam in Google and Bruce Kimmel and the March link came up. Gumnaan and Haines His Way brought the October link. Gumnaan and HHW brings up the same links and a bunch of other stuff.

It is indeed a dour day, weather-wise, here in the NYC area.         :(

Dour? It's downright crappy. And cold!

Dear Larry,

Mr. Morelli is working away on your tapes. Did you do the orchestrations for these concerts or are they just performances you attended? I don't think I ever asked you.

Tonight is my nightmare night as far as TV scheduling is concerned. So many wonderful shows crammed into the three hours of primetime. It's really absurd.

For fans, just a reminder that 30 ROCK begins its fourth season tonight at 9:30 on NBC.

I'm a Big Fan!

Yes DR JOSE - Mario plays the same character - there was even a nice flashback to the shower scene with him and Christian.

He is now working with the boys - specializing in lady parts.  The show is as crazy and illogical as ever.

Like DR MATTH I am weary of the wife drama on GLEE, but last night was a funny episode.  I guess Sue's theme music will be CARMINA BURANA for the rest of the season, and her dialog was very funny. Next week looks like it might suggest some anarchy that I hope students don't pick up in schools around the country.  I think Ryan Murphy - like most writers - forgets he is writing for teenage characters, not adult characters when he has some of the kids says things....but at least there was no Kristin Chenowith to completely throw the balance of the show off.  Hopefully she won't come back or be referenced again.  Once more and no matter what - I'm done.  I'm glad she has her fans, but include me out.  :P

She's been mentioned for the revival of PROMISES PROMISES and I think it's pathetic: Fran Kubelik is a young lady in a bad affair, not an old whore.

I guess BBB is having some sort of Twitter event for its opening night.

"What's the story,  @MorningGlory?"

"What's the tale, @Nightingale?"

"Tell me quick about @Hugo&Kim!"

Actually, it's @B3onBroadway. ;)

Well, they had some "technical difficulties" last night which led to what may have been the most entertaining part of the whole show. ;)

Broadway's 'Bye Bye Birdie' stops mid-show, Bob Saget and Don Rickles to the rescue!

Mr Irwin is getting some bad notices from the message boards in BBB - among others  It will be interesting to read the reviews tomorrow - wonder if the critics made it back to the show to see Conrad when he recovered from his Neely O'Hara Laryngitis.

Some of the arrangements/orchestrations are mine and then there are other concert works by others. I found the other cassette for Anthony, a Christmas one.

It's early Christmas time. Someone just brought over two Christmas LPs (Pat Boone and Glen Campbell) to be transferred to CD.

I think she's great for the right projects; I saw her 100 years ago do a fabulous Luisa in THE FANTASTICKS, and I think she was a great choice for ageing operetta diva in MUSIC IN THE AIR. She's all wrong for Marian Paroo and Fran Kubelik.

DR edisaurus - Is this the same documentary/special that will be premiering on TCM on November 4? Then subsequently presented at GSU the following week?

Yep, the web wags have their long knives out for BBB.

Maybe they are casting her as an old whore--the Marian Mercer role.  If this is a Roundabout production, then we can look forward to one of the Olsen Twins as Fran Kubelik (or maybe both of them!)

I would think that someone entering the convent should not be listening to Ben Folds.

And she was a phenomenal "Galinda/Glinda" in "Wicked."

HUGE fan of hers, I am, when she's doing the right roles and singing the right songs.

Well, as "Ben Folds Five": "Whatever and Ever, Amen"

As "Ben Folds": "Rockin' the Suburbs"

And as part of "The Bens" (along with Ben Kweller and Ben Lee): "The Bens - EP" (Just 4 tracks, available via iTunes)

*I also like Ben Folds' cover of "Golden Slumbers" from the "I Am Sam" soundtrack - well, at least the album that's comprised of all Beatles' covers.

There's also a DVD from the "Ben Folds Five" appearance on "Sessions At West 54th" on PBS.  It's great watching the band - and the crowd!
