My comment to JRand59 was in regards to his post on the Titanic book(s).

Why is it Monday. Why couldn't today be Saturday.

Because then tomorrow would be Sunday and Sunday was yesterday - would you like to wake up tomorrow and find out it's yesterday?  I mean, one yesterday is enough.

That's why I stopped posting anything about ANY g&^$d*#n television show.  Being chastised on a public board about what I can and CANNOT write is ridiculous.

So I will just refrain from writing anything about television and make one or two people happy.

Oh but you NOT posting about it will really make me sad ;)

Got word today that little Gabe is coming down with the flu as is his mother.   Since they will miss Halloween if he's sick, I think they may all dress up in costumes and watch movies at home together.  I think that sounds like fun

You do not overpower and physically force someone to anything, let alone push them into something that they are not willing to do!

Well, sometimes that's what friends do. At the Naval academy one of the requirements for graduation was that we swim a mile fully clothed (less shoes) and that we jump into the water from large height. The latter was accomplished by climbing up a rope ladder to a small platform suspended from the ceiling of the Natatorium. I was less than thrilled with the idea, but I did manage to do it (climbing the ladder was freakier than the jump). My roomrate chickened out and climbed back down. At the end of the class he was given one last chance. There was poor Hal up on the platform frozen with terror. It was obvious the boy was not jumping! I swam out to the rope, climbed the nasty beast and confronted Hal. (I was forwarned that if he was pushed the jump didn't count.) I convinced him to stand on the edge - then to put his feet half-over. I then got behind him and used my stage-hypnosis skills to get him to lean out over the water - once teetering, it was an easy job to surreptitiously use one foot to nudge one of his so he lost his balance- down he went, and he was able to continue on to graduation.

Of course now I had to contemplate climbing back down the ladder or jumping again (with a whole class of witnesses) - well, in this case pride cameth before a jump.

Oh, and I'm up, have answered a lot of e-mails, printed out a few orders (Cry For Us All was just reviewed favorably on Playbill, and whenever that happens there's suddenly some orders).

I read that yesterday and meant to post something about it, and I forgot. I suspected it would bring in some Orders.

Before I went to lunch, I watched BROTHERS & SISTERS. I enjoyed the entire episode. "Luc" is so gorgeous, he makes my teeth hurt (I thought the same thing when he was in the SEX AND THE CITY movie). Everyone gawking at him was SO true to life. I thought Sally Field had several memorable moments last night.

Best of all, Holly finally had something go wrong in her life. She's been gleefully hovering over the Walkers for three years almost cackling like a witch with their bad luck and now she has her own misfortune to circumnavigate. I LOVED it.

(I noticed the Olins have let another of their brood join the show. Didn't she play the lover of the soap star Kevin was involved with during season one, or was that another one of Ken Olin-Patricia Wettig's children?)

When I got in from lunch, I watched PAUL BLART MALL COP. It's a totally formulaic movie, as I suspected it would be. There were one or two moments of fun, but so much was ridiculous. Nice to see Jayma from GLEE as his love interest. (Jayma, honey, Matthew Morrison is a MUCH better fit for you.)

I ended my afternoon watching last night's MAD MEN. Good episode with the John Slattery scenes especially superb. And I suspect this will be Jon Hamm's Emmy submission episode.

I suspect that is one reason for the expedition.

Think of the wardrobe items for Jrand that could be recovered!

DR DtM - Mr Sondheim answered a question via mail for me.  I think if you write, you will probably receive an answer in return.

I shall give it a try.  What can it hurt (except for another restraining order?)

So...what's his address??

I won't tell you.

Good Afternoon!

I finally made it out of my apartment a few hours ago. It feels like Fall again here in NYC, and I had a nice walk down from 145th Street to 116th. I'm currently cooling my heels on/in the Quad at Columbia University, always a nice place to watch the sunset. And the co-eds.

I'm back with my physical therapist Gurjeet, and he and his assistant Jennifer were happy to see me back. I have a shoulder impingement, not a bad rotator cuff, and he thinks I will be fine when the swelling inside my shoulder goes down. I also had a great day at Toyland, working out what needs to be accomplished to finish volume two of the supplementary scores for BABES IN TOYLAND: various concert and dance pieces derived from the score for commercial usage and the four new numbers written for the German adaptation Spielland.
