DR Ginny, I guess I read the number of times you have to walk the stairs incorrectly.

I must have missed this.

Did she walk up the stairs backwards?

Well, it is difficult to climb stairs with a pumpkin stuck up.........................

SPOILER ALERT

I like Ron's idea of twenty-four hours - how does that sit with everyone?

Personally, other than awards shows, I don't see the need for spoilers.  However, at the same, I don't watch reality shows, so my opinion shouldn't count.

In the days, before recording technology, there wouldn't be a need for spoilers.  Actually, I figure a bit of spacing to warn a person who hasn't watched the show yet would suffice.

Guys, I think we made a serious faux pas with our intimations about TCB having been on the Titanic and looking for his luggage.

I believe it was the Mayflower he sailed on....or was it the Nina, the Pinta or the Santa Maria?  At any rate, he HAD all his luggage with him.

Are you sure he didn't leave the luggage when he went ashore with Leif to build the Viking tower in Rhode Island (in the Eleventh Century).

Well, it's time for me to leave and to go Seattle!  I'm FINALLY going to see Stephen Sondheim in person...but I know that I won't get to actually meet him.  Darn. ;)

Anyway, have a good rest of the evening, all!

My comment to JRand59 was in regards to his post on the Titanic book(s).

As for SPOILER Warnings...

Since no one was "spoiled" this time 'round, can we please just drop the discussion? I think the point has been made.

Does TCB know about this??

Wasn't it enough for him to be on the original voyage?  ;)

I am still hoping they will find my wallet.

Nice try, DR JOSE - but spoilers on HHW and Amelia Earhart's disappearance are the two most hotly discussed items on the whole of the inner web.

Thanks!  I borrowed my niece's car because my "Service Engine Soon" light came on and I don't want to take any chances driving all the way to Seattle and back...and her car has a CD player.  I'm bringing a couple of CDs to listen to in the car...and "just in case" an opportunity presents itself for autographs, but I'm certainly not expecting anything.  I just want to be prepared. ;)

Good Afternoon!

I finally made it out of my apartment a few hours ago. It feels like Fall again here in NYC, and I had a nice walk down from 145th Street to 116th. I'm currently cooling my heels on/in the Quad at Columbia University, always a nice place to watch the sunset. And the co-eds.

Beautiful day today!

It really was.  I had sort of planned to venture a little further south than 116th Street, but it really was so nice just sitting in the Quad at Columbia, sunset-watching, people-watching.  It also turned out that the Wafels & Dinges Truck was set up by CU this afternoon too, and they were paid a visit by Bobby Flay and his "Throwdown" crew!  They moved the actual throwdown indoors, but it was fun seeing some of the Food Network crew guys running around with waffle irons.

*It also turned out that Amir's was offering 2-for-1 "Falafel Bites" (mini-sandwiches), and Nussbaum & Wu was giving out free samples of their new pizza offerings.  Dinner!

Over the last few days Keith has been doing a fine job making improvements on his computer, without sending it for service.  Now he is downloading software which is also improving things, except now I can't post photos or figure out how to email them.

When our company canceled we took Sherlock to Carmel for a belated birthday run on the beach.  As soon as I can I will post the photos.

Had a really good work session - I've finally figured out the composer of the long musical is good for two hours, then he fades.  So, we did a really good two hours and I suggested we reconvene tomorrow, which we will.  I then went to Hugo's for lunch.  Picked up a package and some mail, and am now answering e-mails and about to listen to the Holy Grail part of that two-fer.  I did some fixes to a couple of tracks after I heard it last night, and I think I've finally made a really difficult decision, although it will depend somewhat on how long the second score ends up being.  The decision was whether to include the source music tracks as a bonus.  They're okay, but in both cases are not really part and parcel of the scores - it's music used for coming out of radios or at a dance, etc.  I'd already made the decision not to incorporate that stuff into the score tracks as it occurs in the films themselves, because it's so disruptive to the beauty of the scores.  Originally, given the length of my reference CDs I thought this would have to go out as a two CD set - but if I don't use the source cues on the Holy Grail score, then that runs only 34 minutes (48 with the source cues).  So, that would allow approximately 42 minutes of the other score.  That one had a lot of source cues and when all the blank spaces at the beginnings and ends of tracks get removed and all my edits are incorporated and tightly done, we might just squeeze by at forty-two minutes and if we do, then it can be one CD, which is what I prefer.  For the second score the source music is especially uninteresting.  And for the Holy Grail score, after the score is done you just don't want to hear that other stuff - it's like it's from a different film altogether.  If we HAD to go to two CDs then I have no choice but to put the source cues on both, but I'd much rather not.   I should have my answer by tomorrow evening.
