Had a delightful evening of viewing. I began with IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN which I watched from my own DVD collection rather than waiting for the network version. Yep, this old transfer (I've read the new Warners transfers are much better) is a trifle frayed around the edges, but it's still very nice looking and very entertaining.

Yikes!

Just saw a news reports of a cable that snapped and hit several cars on San Francisco's Bay Bridge.  The CHP is now in the process of shutting down the bridge.

I also watched YOU'RE NOT ELECTED, CHARLIE BROWN which is also on the GREAT PUMPKIN disc. (It was also shown tonight on ABC). Might not on the surface seem to have anything to do with Halloween, but Linus is running for class president, and during his campaign, he happens to mention his devotion to the Great Pumpkin which almost costs him the election.

This was made in 1972, so it's not the classic that those 60s Peanuts cartoons are. Still, it had a few entertaining moments.

I then watched A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE on Blu-ray. It was a nice step up in quality from the DVD I've been watching for the last few years. Really loved seeing it again in such good quality.

Next I watched another PERRY MASON episode. I guess I've read too many Agatha Christie mysteries because I spotted the murderer and his accomplice at the time the murder was taking place.

No injuries have been reported, but something tells me tomorrow morning's rush hour in the Bay Area is gonna be interesting.

We're HOME!!!

Our flight took off at 7:10 with only about a dozen people on it.  We figured that both the 4:30 and 6:30 were undersold and they decided that the weather provided a plausible excuse to cancel the earlier one.  One half-full plane flying from New York to Dayton is more economical than 2 quarter-full ones.

Nope.

Thanks for looking after us, virtually-speaking, this afternoon!
