The Five People are in a sidebar on the left DtJPMan

Ah, I see it now--I had been sufing on my iTouch before and could not see a sidebar so I hopped on my laptop for a look/see.

Mr. Jackson is doing a sort of Chris Isaak thing in that pic.

Okay, inside work that must also be done here.

Happy Halloween, y'all!

I don't have any really memorable Halloween stories.

I do recall that, one year, I had a pull-over rubber Frankenstein mask and answered the door for tick-or-treaters wearing it and a turned-around suit jacket.

A couple of the kids ran off screaming.

From yesterday:

My middle name is Paul. From where that came is anyone's guess. Originally it was to be my first name, but my sister objected.

Up every day at the crack of noon.

Precisely!

Actually, I was up at 8:30, but didn't get out of bed until a little past 11:00.  Just another NPR Saturday morning.

Florence Henderson is a ball of flaming desire....and I think Mammy Yokum makes the intro.

This is truly the worst musical arrangement I have EVER heard of this song....please to enjoy:

Happy Halloween.

Tonight I am going to go trick-or-treating dressed as a witch. My niece
and her friend are gonna be pumpkins. That is their outdoor costumes.

Yesterday my niece was Cinderella at daycare. I got some nice picture
(well i had her put on her costume again at night). Cinderella is her
favorite princess. It is sort of a shame that they don't make a lot of
warmer costumes here. Most are thin and can't really be worn
outside unless you get it really big. So each kid has 2 costumes.

For little kids they have the snuggly ones. Not sure why they
don't make more of these for bigger kids considering our
weather.

I remember some very cold Halloween years when we lived on the East Coast and wearing coats to cover our costumes.  I found the guys had more weather friendly outfits than the girls did, or my little witch outfit I wore most years.

I'm up.  Looks like a pretty day out.  I have to sweep outside because the winds of earlier in the week put leaves everywhere.

As for the Topic of the Day...

The most memorable Halloween's - at least the one I remember(?) - are the ones where theatre folk were involved. Coincidentally(?), my best costumes have been ones that I've come up with at the last minute, or at least the last hour or two. So...

-Halloween 2000
-Bus & Truck tour of Anything Goes
-Somewhere in Montana or North Dakota (I think)
-All 60+ members of the cast, orchestra and crew in a HUGE hotel suite.
-Me running through Wal-Mart and Target grabbing various sale items off of the maternity clothes racks and make-up counter.
-Presenting... You know her... You loved her... You hated her... You've seen her before... "Imelda In Exile"

'Nuff said. ;)

As for today's(?) Halloween, well... I need to do some laundry. I need to take care of some cleaning and organizing.  And I'm really not in the mood for dealing with drunk people in costumes, so...  It's also currently 67 degrees here in NYC, so... But I may head down to The Village to watch some of the parade - I haven't done that in years! Or I may just stay home and continue to make sure I don't get sick(er).  We shall see.

Jrand, The Power is coming, I believe, but not from us.

It was a thought because when I watched it I realized how much SOURCE MUSIC was involved.

That's Witchie-Poo [from H.R. Puffinstuff]

As for the main event:   Scary.   Very Scary.

As much as I love to joke about it, I have actually not.

But it doesn't show the all-important shoe selection!

Well, since she was "in exile", she was relegated to wearing the $2 pair of pale green fuzzy slippers I found for her at Wal-Mart.

*Actually, those fuzzy slippers lasted quite a while, and were perfect for walking around the apartment during the cold winter months.  Just sayin'.
