The fuzzy green slippers looked especially swell with the bright pink bathrobe...

Sadly, I don't think I ever got a picture of the whole outfit. Well, at least not the skirt - which eventually was turned into a small tablecloth for one of my end tables.

*Btw, I believe the total cost of that costume came in just under $12! And that included the fuzzy slippers, skirt, top/mumu, "pearls", makeup, and the shower cap!

How many DRs of the male variety have ever done drag??

As much as I love to joke about it, I have actually not.

So far.

I remember I had a gig where I shared a house with three women. Since I was the "man" in the house, I became "Mama Jose" - rhymes with "Rose".

*And I'm not sure I'd qualify "Imelda in Exile" as "drag".  That was more like "desperation".

Jrand, interestingly, most of the source music for our release of my Holy Grail score wasn't in the film at all - only two cues of it and even those didn't last for more than a few seconds coming out of a radio - I felt no sorrow in losing them.

Cool.  But I always loved hearing the Ronald Stein 50 Foot Woman rock and roll cues coming from the car radio in REFORM SCHOOL GIRLS!

DR KERRY I bought the book.  I didn't even know it had been published.  Most interesting, I am sure - until they make the movie version with Sondra Bullock.

Sandra Bullock turned down the role.  The part went to Debra Messenger.

TOD:  My middle name is David.  I guess those in charge at the time figured they had to put something after "Kerry."  For my confirmation name, I chose John, and used all three names off and on for a few years.  No one ever called me "DJ" though.

Nice interview with Cheyenne, for all you fans of his:
http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/theatre/article/718326--cheyenne-autumn

I find his choice of five people very interesting and telling.

Nice article and some remarkable people that he does admire...

I don't know-- I went as Carmen Miranda for one Halloween, Mary Hartman for another and a nun for another.  Do they count?  I suppose the nun counts as drag!

Interesting to see Cheyenne used as a male name. I have seen Cheyenne used as a girl's name in this area and Dakota more as a boy's name.

Good Afternoon!

A question from a friend that a DR may be able to answer:

"One evening, I was listening to the radio and heard a recording of a female vocalist singing a medley of "Guess Who I Saw Today" followed by "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" followed by a reprise of "Guess Who I Saw Today." I have no idea who it was.

Scarily, I wrote to Jonathan Schwartz at WNYC and HE DIDN'T KNOW!!!

Might you?"

Might you?
