Oh, you know me, any time a trip to the zoo is in the offering, I'm willing to go and hang out with my relatives.

DR Jennifer - ~~~~~GET WELL VIBES TO YOUR NIECE~~~~~

Has your sister checked in with her doctor regarding your niece's/her daughter's reaction to the flu shot?

When they got the flu shot they were told it is common to have a fever afterwards.

My niece's doctor is not open on the weekends. I think my sis was going to call the swine flu hotline. But my niece is starting to do better today. She is mostly back to her old self. Her fever today was between 99-100F all day. That is a pretty low fever. My sis did not want to give her the meds cause she seemed better.  Although she's had diarrhea all day.

re: camryn grimes.

I loved loved her when she was a child actress. She was the most brilliant kid actress (she started on Y&R when she was maybe 6).

I'm not sure how good she is now that she's older.  It was sort of an odd transition on the soap when she became older. Because everyone remembered her as a kid.

I'll bet she's still good. She really was a gem as a child.

I've always thought the "Y&R" writers did not - and do not - know how to write for actresses and characters in their "tweens".  -Which is why most of the kids on that show - and other soaps - go away to boarding school at age 8, and then come back two years later in their late teens.

They have had some good writing when the "kids" were 16 ish. But i agree they have not done much with tweens. There was this little girl who played abby a couple years ago. I thought she was brilliant (i have seen her guest star on many shows). But they decided to SORAs her (so now she is 14). Although the actress who plays her now is just so-so.

Thanks for the vibes.  Zach's fever seems to have broken, at least temporarily, and he sure looks better now than he did even this morning.  I know that flu has coughs--what I was wondering was does the swine flu have a *croupy* cough.  Typically when I get the flu I don't get that deep raspy croupy cough, just run of the mill sneezing or coughing.

Vibes for Zach~~~~~~~~~~

I had also heard that a cough was one of the key symptoms. But his fever sounded too low.

DR Jennifer I'm glad your niece is improving.  It seems like she had a rather severe reaction.

According to the link DR Cilla shared, http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/flu-symptoms/FU00013 , not everyone gets a high fever with H1N1.

Favor - can some of you dear readers go to YouTube and rate the various haineshisway videos - some ASS has gone in there on every video that had no star rating and given them one star - I'm sure it's one of our amusing little enemies who has nothing better to do - it's so bloody obvious - but all it will take is a couple of five-star ratings to put it right.

There's finally a story about the accident on WHIO-TV's website, describing the event pretty much as I did.  It also says traffic was backed up for more than a mile and that no one was hurt.

Also, I haven't watched it yet, but my sister's boyfriend was able to record the Johnny Mercer documentary for me, and he gave me the DVD today.  I went to my parents' house for dinner before the show and he came with my sister and niece.  Even though I haven't watched it, I wanted to see the HHW reference in the credits...and here they are:

and notice the first credit on this screen capture and then look right in the middle:

thankyou George!!  Do you, by chance, have any way of duplicating said DVD and if you do,  would you consider doing so for the likes of me?

Yesterday, I saw a very interesting show at Playwrights Horizons, called Circle Mirror Transformation.  I was also treated to an excellent dinner cooked by Mr. Skip himself.  Yum!  Thanks DR FJL!

Excellent dinners are the only kind Mr. Kennon cooks!!

Someone has pointed out that the one-star ratings is a YouTube glitch that only occurs if I'm looking in "My Videos" - once you actually go to the video, most of them have five-star ratings.

Unfortunately Zach has relapsed somewhat and is now over 102.  But he's breathing fine.

In better news, Betsy and I are very excited about an older ranch home at the top of Council Crest we went through today.  It needs a lot of cosmetic stuff done, but it has great bones, is large (about 4000 sf), has a beautiful view and best of all is on .68 acre which is undevelopable!!!  So we may be making an offer.

Here's one of my favorite features, from the listing photos.  This is taken from the dining room toward the living room, but I just love the deco fireplace.
