I saw the original production when it tried out in Philly.  Estelle Parsons, Eileen Heckart and Rosemary Murphy.  A lot of bitchy fun with a bizzare turn.

It was pretty good...for a college production.  The actresses were pretty good and the show was funny.

I debated with myself for a long time over what to watch on the DVR and if I wanted to simply pull a favorite movie like MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS off the shelf.

I decided to watch AUSTRALIA since it's taking up a three hour high def block on my DVR. My cache went from 78% full to 61% once I had watched it and deleted it.

Anyway, this is a movie that does NOT lack for plot. Good lord, was this a sprawling tale or what! Reminded me some of RED RIVER and some of OUT OF AFRICA and bits and pieces of lots of other movies, too. The production was BIG (wonder what this thing cost?), but I think maybe some things could have been cut to make it a little more streamline and run a bit more smoothly. I did find Kidman and Jackman together made for an interesting couple. I also thought the movie's villain Fletcher was quite a hunk himself. I wanted him to take HIS shirt off as much as Jackman got to toss his off on occasion.

DEXTER tonight had a first, an OOPS! moment that should have some ramifications for the remaining episodes of the season. I'll be interested to see where it all leads. Good show!

Mad Men closed out season three with a really crackerjack episode - I won't say anymore, other than it was very satisfying without being one of those annoying cliffhanger things.

It was a truly gorgeous, picture-perfect Fall day here in NYC.  Yes, it was "unseasonably warm", but... :)  Lots of walking, some picture taking, and more walking.
