The UPS truck made a stop, but it wasn't FIGHT CLUB. It was a couple more Criterion Blu-rays which went to the bottom of the pile. I guess if FIGHT CLUB is coming today, it'll be this afternoon. [sigh]

I took a good, long look at THE GOLDEN AGE OF TELEVISION this morning. Five of the eight programs are less than an hour long. Only the last three (REQUIEM FOR A HEAVYWEIGHT, THE COMEDIAN, DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES) were done on Playhouse 90 or in 90-minute slots. So, I should be able to get four of them watched today easily. There appear to be some interviews and commentaries with at least some of the programs. But I haven't put any in the player yet, so I don't know which ones have what yet.

The booklet that comes with the set has a nice opening essay about live television and essays on each of the eight programs.

I forgot about this set coming out.  I'll have to compare the prices between Amazon and DeepDiscount.com's supposed sale and make my order.

Gppd morning, all! I slept late and then I got all involved with the CDs that Anthony burned for me, and now here I am I have a walk to the pharmacy today for some meds and a lot of editing. I need to think about Brent Barrett's holiday shows at Roseland as well.

DR Jose, it's great to hear you have some work this week and I'm thrilled that the weekend did not do you in.

DR TCB, sounds like you have an angel watching over you while you're braving the wilds of Italy. Perhaps it's your friend who gave you this trip? Is anyone taking photos? We want photos!

Julie - thanks for your positive report about White Christmas.  We're seeing it here in Cincinnati on Wednesday evening.  Some of my Facebook friends saw it over the weekend and liked it a lot!

For those who love the live drama of the 1950s, it would seem to be a must. I am really eager to begin viewing it. I have REQUIEM and COMEDIAN on videotape and will be glad to rid myself of those and move up to DVD versions of these classics.

I must head downstairs now to get cleaned up for lunch out later with best friend John. I will also try to watch last night's BROTHERS & SISTERS before he arrives to pick me up for lunch.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And you guys and gals really know how to make a DR feel special.  Thank You for all the well-wishes and Vibes.  It was a long weekend, but I'm also thinking that might have had something to do with the fact that I was actually out of bed before 10:30am each day.  Longer days = longer weekend. ;)

As for the Topic of the Day...

I, of course, only saw "The Twilight Zone" - usually on Channel 20 out of Washington, DC.  They would run back to back episodes during the 10:00pm hour.  I saw a lot of them, but I never really learned the titles of any of the episodes.  -Well, I guess I never paid attention to them. So...

The one with Burgess Meredith and the stopwatch.

The one with the group of people who had a camera that would take "future" pictures.  The ending of that one where they notice that there are more bodies on the sidewalk down below really creeped me out.

The one with William Shatner on the airplane.

-And I don't think I ever saw "To Serve Man" until it was shown during a "greatest episodes" week.  I guess I just missed it during the regular rotation.
