I must remember to print out cookie recipes too. I think everyone should try all the recipes and send a dozen of each kind of cookies to Jane for today, Bruce for tomorrow, Mikey for later in the week and to Sugar and me (for no reason). I could help Sugar eat the cookies.

Time to catch up on posts, walk Sugar again, and hope it really rains today like it's supposed to.

Good morning!

Gray here and cold, but not bitter cold. It's not getting out of the 40s again today, but that's OK since I'll be inside most of the day anyway. My walk was very enjoyable this morning even if the skies were gray instead of blue.

bk, I had no problem buying my own birthday cake and eating it all up. I got a 5" cake from the deli section of my local grocery store, and I had wonderful birthday cake for four or five days.

The UPS has come and gone and with him came Disney's G-FORCE on Blu-ray, so that will be my work project for the day (and likely evening. There are are fair number of bonus features and a commentary.)

TV Note:

Most every network has new programming tonight (NBC is the only one running old LAW & ORDER: SVU reruns). This includes a new episode of CASTLE on ABC, new episodes of the CBS comedies, and DR Jennifer's beloved CW series.

A new THE CLOSER episode begins three weeks of new episodes to usher in a new TNT series with Ray Romano (ugh), Scott Bakula (yum), and Andre Brauher (eh), MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE.

TOD:

The earliest horror movie I can remember (which has elements of sci-fi) was THEM!

The earliest sci-fi (which incidentally scared me silly) was TARGET EARTH. I clearly remember the killer robot inching closer and closer to our heroes on a roof, and I wanted to hide under my seat in the theater. Looking at it now, it's laughably cheesy and not the least bit scary.

It probably *wasn't* the first thing I saw (which was maybe Frankenstein on SLC's late Friday night Nightmare Theater), but I remember to this day being at our neighbors' house when I was maybe 4 or 5 and I Was a Teenage Frankenstein was on and I just screamed in horror at the sight of Michael Landon's face after the car accident and buried my entire head in their couch begging them to turn off the tv.

TOD: First sci-fi: THE DAY THE EARTH STODD STILL
I saw it on TV and it scared me---I really thought that could happen and cou;dn't stop thinking about it!

First horror film: I don't know if it qualifies, but TWO ON A GUILLOTINE. My dad took me to see it when I was in the 4th grade. Seeing Connie Stevens getting her head chopped off was too much for me.

I saw it years later and realized that it's really a pretty silly film, not particularly scary, but I sure thought it was at the time!

All the CLOSER promos and most of the MOACA promos are mine. I really like MOACA. Like THE CLOSER, it gets even better after the pilot and I think it's one of their best original shows; one of the few shows I would probably watch without having some involvement. (I really don't watch much TV. )I'll be interested in hearing what you think of it, Matt!

Well on the recommendation of DR EDISAURUS, I may watch MOACA.....but it seemed liked a lot of old man natural function jokes - which doesn't go too far with me.

Way back in the 20th Century when I first got onto the inner web, my portal was the famous Yahoo. I even had a nice My Yahoo front page.....but as the new century dawned I moved onto other applications.

Today I happened to return to my old MY YAHOO page. It is a most ingenious application....you can even add your Facebook information there to get updates....and all that other stuff.

So I have returned to the Yahoo fold, and have made it my HOMEPAGE instead of GOOGLE. If you haven't been to YAHOO lately, check it out. You can get local weather, national news and sports headlines, tv listings, and much more ALL on your home page. Many more apps are available.

Of course those with hand held Dick Tracy gadgets may still find it cumbersome. But for those of us who still surf while sitting at a desk, it is nice. You can can also add a personal calendar.

I did watch "The 12 Men of Christmas" and found it quite cute. -Although, the final wrap-up really did happen quite quickly. However, by that time, they had already shown all the men being photographed for their calendar poses, so...

*It repeats tomorrow night on Lifetime.
