Looks like both Memphis and the Night Music revival will be getting cast recordings.

I'd read that the cast recording for Memphis can already be ordered from their website, but I didn't know about ALNM. :D

Jane's story is so disgusting and hopefully the elderly grandma can stop payment or get her money back.

i just received the following email from DS Craig:
Quote
Hello,

I'm sorry for this odd request because it might get to  you too
urgent but it's because of the situation of things right  now, I'm
stuck in London with family right now, i came down here on vacation ,
i was robbed, worse of it is that bags, cash  and cards and my cell
phone was stolen at GUN POINT, it's  such a crazy experience for me, i
need help flying back home,  the authorities are not being 100%
supportive but the good  thing is i still have my passport but don't
have enough money to get my flight ticket back home and l need to
clear the hotel bills here , please i need you to loan me some money,
will refund you as soon as I'm back home, i promise.Get back to  me
ASAP let me know what to do next.

Craig

of course he is not in london, he is home job hunting and if that had happened he would have called home collect.  while i was talking to craig, keith's cousin called to let us know she also received an email.  she said a friend's account was also hacked and sadly the friend's elderly grandmother sent money.

the gmail account hacked was the one craig uses for job applications so very few personal family or friends have it.

I'd read that this is the latest scam going around...and sadly, some people are falling for it. :-\

It's very cold in this house - sixty-four.

LOL! I keep the heat on 63 in my house during the winter.

The scams never cease. I got an e-mail from "Sprint" the other day insisting that my account was out of order and that unless I contacted them at a certain e-mail address, my service would be immediately disconnected. It went right into the spam folder.

I watched THE MENTALIST while I ate lunch today. A very enjoyable episode. I love when Patrick puts snobbish, entitled people in their places. Not a difficult mystery to solve, but it was entertaining watching the rich get manipulated.

Then I watched TO BE OR NOT TO BE. It's an OK remake. Blu-ray really makes all the soft focus shots of Anne Bancroft seem obvious and disconcerting, but the rest of it looked just fine in HD. The DTS-HD MA 5.1 track was a nice step up from Dolby Surround, too. That's also on the disc, and I listened to a sequence or two using it, and it's so PUNY compared to the DTS-HD  track.

The film has always seemed to me to be longer than it actually is. The pacing is fairly leaden which I felt when I first saw it and definitely still feel that way.

I watched all the bonus features. There was one new to Blu-ray featurette, but the others were EPK vignettes done at the time of filming. There's another trivia track, the isolated score track, and trailers.

So, that leaves me with ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS tonight. (My memories of this are not too positive. Maybe a revisit will find me more receptive.)

SPACEBALLS is the same disc as the one I reviewed a few months ago, so I won't have to rewatch that.

I had time to skim through today's OLTL and ATWT. Nothing of interest on either, though I did watch the Lily-Damien-Meg scenes on ATWT just to see Meg lose it.

No much activity on the internet during my afternoon surf, so I'll hop off-line now and do some writing. Then, it's back downstairs to Mel Brooks' second attempt at spoofing the Robin Hood legend.

Betsy and I went to RH:MIT on one of our first dates.  We were the only two people in a crowded theater who laughed raucously at the scream of "Trayf" when the dead pig was thrown down on the table.  Make your own conclusions.  :)

I was writing up some thoughts on the Opus Arte BD of DIDO and AENEAS when the UPS man dropped me off a new title to review.  It's the Harmonia Mundi BD of DIDO and AENEAS.  :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR GINNY!!

Oh, I guess those are her stockings.  I thought our Ginny Doll had her panties down around her ankles.

I had a swell birthday yesterday. First went to our office Christmas lunch/gift exchange which was lots of fun...then drove up to Portland to pick up my friend Mark and we toodled around Portland for a few hours then had our Scandinavian dinner which was delish! I forgot my camera, so no pictures, but I had Swedish Meatballs with lingonberry sauce and gravletx (sp) which was chunks of salmon, grapefruit, and avacodo. Yummy!

Mark also had the meatballs, but had pickled vegies as well.

After dinner we called up our friend Terry, who was unaware that Mark was even in town, and we met him at Scandals, which is a "special interest" bar/lounge. I had a scotch on the rocks and a cup of coffee, Mark had a Bloody Mary, and Terry had one of everything, and was still their when we left.

I got home around midnight, slept in and have been running errands all morning.

Now I shall retire in front of the TV and eat some items from a bake sale that I came across today, and watch some some CASTLE and SURVIVOR and MODERN FAMILY, and maybe a Bollywood movie that just arrived from Netflix.

DR MBarnum - I swear, I think you're the only person who goes to a "special interest" bar and orders coffee!

And that's why I like you! :)
