I'm too pooped to party.

So I will have to say good evening to all, happy days to everybody.

Hopefully I can read 30 + pages of posts tomarrow and see what all the excitement was about.

Night  everyone, kisses. :-*

Let us know what you think of the CD.

I'll listen to it at work tomorrow, so that I can pay attention to the whole thing.

I see people, which begs the question why are they sitting there like so much fish?

I suppose I should write some notes - and I really must get to sleep earlier this evening - CDs will hopefully be here at nine sharp and hopefully so will Cason Murphy, because we've got a LOT to do in a very short period of time.

So...

Jean-Yves Thibaudet's recital at Carnegie Hall was quite wonderful.  The first half was all-Ravel, the "Pavane", and the "Miroirs" suite. Some truly beautiful, coloristic and crystalline playing.  The second half consisted of Brahms' Third Piano Sonata.  I've never really understood the Brahms piano sonatas, and, frankly, even after M. Thibaudet's quite splendid account earlier tonight, I still don't.  However, his playing and interpretation were worth experiencing.

*And through the assistance of a Twitter friend of mine, I was able to head backstage after the recital.  My friend, Joseph Hallman, who is a Philly-based composer, informed that he's known "JYT" since he was 17. So, he texted him, and was able to get my name on "the list".  It really was fun being directed to the "Maestro's Dressing Room", as well as standing in the reception line with some of the major piano teachers from Juilliard and Manhattan School of Music.

Since I was aggressively brutalized by BK to buy the Bernstein CD, I decided I might as well play it. For better or worse, it is drowning out the sound of Fox News.

der Brucer

I would post comments but we all know BK deletes all posts that do not heap lavish praise on all his endeavors.

Is "aggressively brutalized" redundant?

Why do I keep getting e-mail after e-mail about my colon?

Well, don't blame me. You know I think some of your opinions are half-assed so I would be e-mailing about your semicolon :D

TOD,

The autograph I most cherish is one by the brilliant, but unheralded,  Vinnie Cirilli.*

Well, this is a new one... To me at least...

I've been selling off some of my spare kitchen equipment via CraigsList over the past couple of weeks.  I have - well had - a Kitchen Aid Hand Mixer for sale.  -I just sold it this morning. When I got home, I found this response in my emailbox:

Quote
I am obliged to buy a used mixer, but nine Amazon customers who bought this model are not happy campers http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid...

On yours, do both beaters operate optimally?

Does the motor smoke or shoot sparks out?

Assuming excellent working condition, may I offer $10?

Thanks.

WTF?

I went ahead and responded with a "why did you bother even responding to my ad in the first place" response.

I know I have been extremely busy

I believe derBrucer murdered him.
