I don't recall seeing this posted before, but if it has been, my apologies for my oversight.  In any case...

The Sound of Music en Français!  -Well, actually, it's en Anglais but in France.

The Sound of Music - extraits du spectacle - medley

*This is the production that stars DR elmore's friend, Rod(ney) Gilfry, as Captain Von Trapp, Kim Criswell at the Mother Abbess, and Carin Gilfry as Liesl at Théâtre du Châtelet.

**Does the opening graphic remind any other DR of the St. Pauli Beer Girl? ;)

Some casting news has just been made official:

Katie Finneran, Tony Goldwyn and Brooks Ashmanskas Will Star in Promises, Promises

And...

Stanley Tucci to Direct Anthony LaPaglia, Tony Shalhoub, Jan Maxwell and More in Lend Me a Tenor Broadway Revival

*Another "Monk" alum, Brooke Adams, will also be appearing Tenor.

I guess I am still trying to figure out what role Tony Shalhoub would play in LEND ME A TENOR.

Well, if you had clicked on the link... ;)

Tony Shalhoub will be playing Sanders; Anthony LaPaglia will be playing Tito Merelli, and Mrs. Tony Shalhoub - the real Mrs. Tony Shalhoub - has been cast as Julia.  *I'm really looking forward to Jan Maxwell as Maria!

I'm sorry, Jose, the links don't always open for me.  That is why I asked.

No worries, DR TCB. I wasn't sure which part he was cast in either until I read the article.

Watching a motion picture on Blu and Ray.  It's amazing to watch a 1996 "high-tech" up to the minute movie and see just how dated all that high-tech stuff looks thirteen years later.

And it's conducted by my friend Kevin Farrell! What's with the crowd prancing around with chairs during "Do Re Mi"?

I'm being kept prisoner in a small corner beside a very hot radiator and editing baseball day and night. I will get one reprieve tomorrow night when I go to see FINIAN'S RAINBOW!

DR JMK - Ah, well... Que sera sera...

*Do you happen to know if someone else placed a better offer on the table? -An offer that may end up falling through at the last minute? ;)

No, we're the accepted offer.  It has to do with the bank not responding to our "as is" offer in a timely fashion.  It may still work out, but chances are very slim.

That's too bad if it ends up not working out, JMK. :-\

I have not been sitting here like so much fish all evening.  I have been in the kitchen assembling a beautiful lasagna that we'll bake for dinner tomorrow evening.  My niece is here from Illinois to help Gram with some moving prep and I'm cooking for them.  After dinner, we'll probably take a ride around town to ooh and ahh over Christmas lights.

Well... As of last week, I no longer have to open my windows.  The handy-man finally adjusted the timer and the thermostat.

It has really been cold here today. After so many days of warm weather this month, I guess it's just seeming colder than usual today.

I began my evening watching A CHRISTMAS STORY on Blu-ray. It's always such a joy to revisit this movie. It always leaves me feeling so upbeat.

And I watched the 20th anniversary bonus feature that had four of the boys from the film - now grown up naturally - answering a series of questions about making the film and other memories of CHristmases.

Then I watched ON WITH THE SHOW. I had never seen this before: a curious combination of backstage melodrama and romance and on stage numbers. Ethel Waters sings two songs in the movie, both show stoppers and the best things in the movie by far. Of course, the Technicolor originals are long gone, but it played OK in B&W, and it actually is in better shape than SALLY was that I watched last night.

Feeling nostalgic, I pulled out my old show tape of BABY and watched some of the numbers. I wish I had been able to see the Broadway production.
