A big *MWAH* and a thank you for all of your birthday wishes!  I am heading out soon to meet up with a friend to see an early showing of AVATAR and then, as a change of pace, do some more Christmas shopping.

Nice and chilly out. Luckily, Staples was nearly empty and I was in and out with my purchases in around 15 mnutes. On my way back up Broadway I ran into Mr Ron Raines, looking hale and hearty. He's the same age as my brother Tom, and, though I've only known him for around 25 years now, has become more of a brother than Tom has ever been. He says Charlotte just arrived and their Big Christmas Brunch is on. I must call her immediately.

Watched ANGELS AND DEMONS last night and found it absolutely laugh out loud bad at times.  Some of the dialogue just had me in stitches:  "Are you really a symbologist?"   ;D

Did we see the same movie?

My wife and I thought it was a pretty good thriller.

Certainly better than THE DA VINCI CODE.

If I had seen that Santa when I was a child, I would have hidden under my bed on Christmas Eve for fear he would come into my house.

Okay, I'm off to NYPL. I'm later than I wished but I got sidetracked by Dominick Dunne.  So, I'll grab my yello pad and head out.

I believe that's what they call damning with faint praise.  :)

Horse racing, as BK says.  I found it absolutely silly most of the time.  And I love the Dan Brown books, don't get me wrong.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And, well... I thought about going to see "Avatar" at 10:30 morning... That has to count for something, right?

During ALA in Chicago this past summer, I won a $10 gift certificate from Demco, a library supplier.  FedEx just brought us an assortment pack of Crystal Clear Plastic Book Jacket Covers.  Some snowy day after the holidays we'll have a book-covering party at our dining room table.

Are we geeks or what?

Most horrible was a version of The Snow Queen by Robert Neil Porter - with an annoying Jack In the Box and some really horrible dancing by the Tin Soldier......fortunately, it is not on You Tube that I can see.

Ya, but that Tin Soldier was quite a hottie!
