Well, you've read the notes, the notes had power, and now it is time for you to post until the power cows come home.

Today we are probably going to a smaller mall to see santa and ride the free train (it goes up and down the mall).

It is a pretty small mall and gets like 100 times less people than the regular mall (which is a zoo). So hopefully if we go for when santa and the train start (noon), then there won't be too many people there.

Wow, what a weather day yesterday.  It started several hours later than threatened, but once it got going . . .  well, it was really beautiful.

I went into the theater at Theater Row around 1:45 and it was lightly snowing, but nothing sticking to the ground.  When we walked out at 5pm, it was starting to come down very quickly.  I said goodbye to my friend, and then walked the one avenue over to the Westin hotel lobby, which I lovingly refer to as my branch office, and made a few calls and checked some emails.  When I left to head up near Lincoln Center, it was really coming down and getting more difficult to get around.  The wind was strong, and the snow was starting to blow horizontally straight into my face, no matter what direction I walked in.

I got to the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater, where Evergreen had it's first preview, around 7 or so.  They did a great job with the show.  Beautiful score, and an interesting book, geared towards being a family holiday show.

At 9pm, I got out and started heading home.  At that point, it was really hard to get around.  The plows were starting to work the main avenues, creating large snow mounds that were hard to cross over.  When I got home, I made a large mug of hot tea, and crawled under the covers and watched some TV.

It looked so beautiful outside last night.  The combination of the snow on the streets, and lining each branch of every tree, coupled with all of the extra Christmas lights and decorations, was just gorgeous.

I woke up this morning to the sound of people shoveling the sidewalks and clearing the snow off their cars.

This was the view down 22nd Street this morning.  The plow had already been through, but it could use another pass.

WARNING - UNSETTLING POST ABOUT CHILD ABUSE FOLLOWS:

Rarely am I speechless; I am not loath to offer advice, asked for or not, but:

A young man who works with Woody has a problem:

His Father is a local Pediatrician who has just been arrested for multiple counts of engaging in violent sex acts with children age 6 mos to 12 years. The offenses all occurred on the Doctor’s Office premises while the parents were waiting for their off-spring to finish with their examinations.

The authorities had been alerted a year ago to the potential problems, but did not have probable cause for a warrant. A parent finally stepped forward with a child who could testify. Subsequent to his arrest a search warrant uncovered videos showing the Dr. committing various offenses.

Woody doesn’t know what to say to the kid if he returns to work – there are no words!

I do not envy a court-appointed defense counsel who gets this case.

I do not envy parents who have had their children treated over the years wondering “IF?”

Lack of probable cause notwithstanding. the public will surely raise a ruckus over the authority’s failure to prevent multiple cases of assault during the time he was under suspicion.

Unseemly details can be read about  HERE

MR BK - IB is rather short on violence considering that it's QuenTan.  Some scalpings that really don't look all that realistic, a head bashing/beating with a baseball bat (mostly in long shot), a couple of massa-crees, a strangling and a double murder.....but not the blood bath we usually see.

And I liked the story - and all of the performances except B.J. Novak, who seemed to be playing his OFFICE persona in this movie and doing a lot of open mouthed staring like Sally Field used to do - and call it acting.

What lovely snow pictures from everyone.  We have just a bit - and more scheduled for later in the week, but not today, which is good, since I have to work.

DR Julie - I headed out to Elmhurst, Queens, last night around 6:00.  The snow had finally started to pick up, but it was too bad.  By the time we got to Queens - we just took the bus... WOW!  -And, then, needless to say, by the time we left the restaurant around 10:30... WOW!!!.  -We hopped on a bus from the restaurant to the Main St/Flushing Station - and it almost got stuck a few times spinning its wheels at a couple of intersections.

-Oh, and the walk from Bryant Park to Times Square down 42nd Street had to be one of the windiest, coldest and downright uncomfortable walks I've ever taken. I had orginally planned to walk all the way over to 8th Ave, but decided to head underground at Broadway & 7th.  It really was just too windy and cold.  -But at least I got some good pictures. ;)

Yes, I did post that.  Not that particular article, but I have linked directly to Lincoln Center's new Atrium previously here on HHW.

Oooooh! The concert I'm supposed to go today at 3:00 is actually at 7:00!  -Yeah! Plenty of time to head for a bit, take some pics of NYC in the snow and take a nap this afternoon! :)

Although, I think I may just head back to bed now for another hour or two. Hmm...
