DR derBRUCER - I guess just follow the kid's lead.....if he doesn't talk about it, SWW doesn't talk about it.

what i was thinking, just treat him the same as before.  poor guy.

i don't understand why the very young children received exams without a parent present.

Or that the parents didn't notice something OFF when the kids came back from getting their "treat"?  If the kids were screaming when he did the videos why would it have stopped when they were returned to their parents?

hard to say the children didn't hide their emotions, they tend to be unhappy at the doctors office to begin with.  when the boys got older i remember waiting outside the exam room & would have heard screams.  babies often scream anyway.  when bryan needed stitches at the er i refused to leave, no matter they didn't let parents stay as they had a tendency to feint.

My daughter's reaction as well! "Moron Parents!"

It seems the assualts actually took place post-exam when the Dr. took the girls to a separate "play room" for a post-exam treat.

I find it especially sad that young parents can not even trust their own Pedicatrian to treat their children kindly.

der Brucer

that kind of explains it, except he would have been gone an oddly long time.  i wonder how many children refused to return to that doctor.

Apparently parents did notice but were either reluctant to go to the police and/or the police still had insufficient evidence for the arrest - the police clearly had multiple reports over the year of suspicion.

After the McMartin case (remember that) officials are cautious about prosecution based soley on toddler's oral evidence. The tipping point in this case seems to be a child who exhibited physical signs of abuse at the hospital.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  We are back from a long day in Lima.  Fr. Richard's lay reader was kept away by the snow (he comes from up north), the recorded music didn't work (probably due to a power failure sometime during the week and requiring Richard to lead the acapella singing), there was a vestry meeting after the service, and Richard made his monthly visit to our centenarian.  Needless to say, I drove home while Richard slept.

I'm going to fiddle with a few computer things and then head back down to put away the folded laundry, clean my bathroom, and then get back to the home theater for a full evening of fun viewing.

I have been thinking about Christoph Waltz's performance in INGORIOUS BASTERDS and also the performances of the two lead actresses - all three are great - and together they make this a film worth seeing.

I am NOT a Tarentino fan....he is for the young, the hip, the NOW (with no sense of history) crowd - but this revisionist movie (with Brad Pitt) is one that I will watch again....something I haven't done with any other QuinTan fillum.

One hour and twenty minutes left at work.  It would be nice to have a few more customers NOW instead of one hour a ten minutes from now.  Please.

Well...

Since I've basically been a slug for the past couple of hours...

And since I'll be heading down to Symphony Space in a little while for their annual Bach Branderburg Bash...

Well...

Laters....

I agree this does not make sense. You would always go in with your child even if they were 4 or 5. And you would not have a doctor take them anywhere unless the doctor was a close family friend.  Very sad.

I brought my camera but my niece did not want to sit on santa's lap. She did however talk to him and she let him give her a little bear.

The train was broken when we arrived. When we went back the driver decided that no adults would be allowed on it (even though there was space).

so i had to run beside the train since there is no way i would leave my niece alone on it (she just turned 4).

Later they changed the rule so that one adult could go with each kid. So i went. But the train stopped working on the way back.

The funny part is that the driver said there was too much weight on it and wanted some very small women to get off.  The part i thought was funny was that this guy was a big fat tub and probably weighed 250+ llbs. And he was making the women get off. :)

Good evening.  Thanks for the vibes. I went out and got salt for the water softener and was feeling better so I went to the baking party.  It was fun.  Jane's sour cream cookies were a hit again.

Horrible news story from DR der Brucer.  Forty years ago I worked for a pediatrician who fought many demons and eventually, we're pretty sure, took his own life.

Some other cookies that looked like they had crushed oreos mixed with something and rolled into balls then dipped in chocolate - haven't tried that one yet.
