Thanks, Jrand.  I have yet to find the actual quote from Mr. Maguire, so at this point it is merely a parody of an All that Chat post.  Heehee.

Now on to cooking, laundry, and cleaning.

Are you wearing the French Maid outfit?

Jose -  But if you do send it to Mr. Cole, please make sure to say that I know it's just a parody of an All That Chat thread; I can't find anything online that says Gregory Maguire actually said what the chatter said he said.  :)

Well, the UPS truck did indeed show up and with it, Fox's (500) DAYS OF SUMMER and ALL ABOUT STEVE and Disney's 100 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU, all on Blu-ray. Since the Disney doesn't come out until January 5th and the two Fox discs come out tomorrow, I'll do doing (500) DAYS OF SUMMER today. Looks like a raft of special features so I'll be spending the afternoon and part of the evening on it.

It's gonna be great getting back to work.

And I noticed that REVOLUTIONARY ROAD is coming on HBO this Saturday, so by the weekend, I may have some names to add to my best performer lists since both of those lead performances got a lot of positive response.

THE CLOSER does have its season finale episode tonight.

NBC wraps up its THE SINGOFF series with the winner announced tonight, and ABC has one of its reality shows with a new episode as well.

LOL!

Do you DRs remember my bitching about the retired cop in my building whose body odor was so awful that it stank up the elevator? As you may recall, he died this year, in the late summer, as I recall. Well, I just went down to the basement to check on my sheets in the dryers, and as I got on the elevator to come back up, I smelled him!

I also went to Fed Ex to pick up large boxes for the Ohio shipment. I have until 4:30, not 8 pm, to get things in for third day delivery. I guess I'd better get busy!

Here's a photo of last night's performance of the "Appalachian Carols" at Town Hall. The "Love Lives On" quilt in the back is the Chorus' AIDS quilt with 148 stars on it representing deceased chorus members.

TOD:

I really haven't seen that many films this year, but 2 performances that stick in my mind are:

Christoph Waltz in INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS
Tilda Swinton in JULIA

As for the TOD:

I will add a vote for

Christoph Waltz in Inglorious Basterds - he is second billed and has a large part (*) but is being pushed in the supporting category, I guess.

I will second DR MATTH's nomination for Diane Kruger as Brigit von Hammersmark and add Melanie Laurent as Shoshanna Dreyfuss both in the aforementioned IB.

I completely echo DR MATTH's opinion of the EPICS "special" on TCM last night.  Although it is to be expected, since the one on "Thrillers" was pretty lame as well.

I think I will skip future Original Programming of this nature.  Not well done at all, it was interesting to see and hear Fraser Heston and the son of Samuel Bronston - but mostly it was a blah!

Up on the house top, Zombies pause,
Eating poor old Santa Claus.
Down through the chimney come Santa’s parts,
Once a Zombie bites – ouch that smarts!

Ho, Hi, Ho, better not go,
Ho, Hi, Ho, better not go,
Up on the housetop, snack, snack, snack,
Down throught the chimney comes Santa’s back

TOD: I would have to say that my favorite performance by an actress in 2009 would have to be DR Sandra in "Hither, Thither, and Yon."

I'm reminded somehow of the classic Johnny Carson joke that the Best Actress award should go to Grace in THE SAILOR WHO FELL FROM GRACE.

Hey!  I don't know if this has been mentioned, since I can't read the posts at work.  However, I jumped in my car this morning to go to work, and Brent Barrett magically appeared on my radio.  At first I thought I was listening to CHRISTMAS MORNINGS, but actually it was Sirius Radio's On Broadway playing CHRISTMAS TIME.  After the song ended they announced that they would be airing an interview and music with Brent at 9:00 p.m. EST on Christmas Eve; and that the show would air again on Christmas Day at (I believe) 6:00 p.m.
