This is pretty darned cool!  But it reminds me of the commercial for that depression medicine, Cymbalta...all the people (who need the medication) are shown as blending into the background, like in these pictures.

Well, just because it's been one of those Twitter and YouTube afternoons:

I Will Survive

Wow.  That certainly is...different. ;)

I just came in after shoveling my car out for the past 2 1/2 hours.  That's enough snow for the year as far as I'm concerned!  Funny, it looks like there'll be a White Christmas in Washington/Virginia, but probably not in Buffalo this year (I'm headed there Wednesday)!

Ginny: make sure Fr. Richard gets the word:

PRIEST IN BRITAIN ADVISES CONGREGATION TO SHOPLIFT

Quote
Father Tim Jones, a 41-year-old clergyman at St. Lawrence Church in York, England, said that shoplifting — rather than prostitution or burglary — is sometimes the best option for poor people struggling to make ends meet, according to the Web site.

"My advice as a Christian priest is to shoplift," Jones reportedly told churchgoers during his Sunday sermon. "I do not offer such advice because I think that stealing is a good thing, or because I think it is harmless, for it is neither."

"I would ask that they do not steal from small family businesses, but from large national businesses — knowing that the costs are ultimately passed on to the rest of us in the form of higher prices," he continued.

"I would ask them not to take any more than they need, for any longer than they need ... My advice does not contradict the Bible's eighth commandment because God's love for the poor and despised outweighs the property rights of the rich."

What next - Saint Jean Valjean - patron saint of shoplifters?

Back from more errands and whatnot, and picking up several packages.  One of them included the VERY VERY rare first edition of Bye Bye Birdie - anyone who collects first edition published musicals knows this is the holy grail.  I don't know anyone who has it, in fact.  There are exactly two copies on the ABE - one for $9500 (obviously a joke) and one for $2500, the latter copy nowhere near mine.  I got it relatively inexpensively, too.  Also in the mail, the soundtrack to UP - Disney only released it as an iTunes exclusive, not as a pressed CD.  This is a fifty-one track CD made for Pixar family and friends.  There is also an Academy promo out, but this is longer.  Best of all, however, was a box from dear reader Laura, which contained homemade cookies and a LOT of them - they seem to be oatmeal/cranberry and I'm eating one now and it's amazingly amazing.  I'll try to save some for my Do.

Whew!  Just watched I OUGHT TO BE IN PICTURES.  Dinah Manoff got all of the pushy, irritating acting qualities of her mother.

Relaxing and listening to UP.  It's so nice to have ALL the music for the film, rather than just what you can get on iTunes.

Juliana will be here at six.  Not sure I'm up for driving over the hill in Christmas rush hour traffic, so I'm thinkin' we'll end up at Jerry's or The Studio Cafe.

Jrand - Thanks.

But a google search shows the phrase's origins:

I was just watching a little of Mission Impossible II - not very good, especially by John Woo standards, but the Blu-Ray transfer is MUCH better than the Mission Impossible Blu-Ray.

I have now wrapped everything on our package-wrapping table except my own stocking-stuffers.  Whew, I'm a tired elf!

The ad has a nice message it says: "This christmas we want to share with you our best wishes for a Christmas of love, peace and friendship"

But it's really the hat that makes the ad.  I figure if people think it's funny looking they will point it out to their friends
