GETTING GIDDY

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were giddy, and now it is time for you to post until the giddy cows come home.

TOD-
I am pretty sure I have not seen 10 2009 movies.
I liked" Dirty Ashes" and "Coco Before Chanel"  Maybe I only saw 2 2009 movies.

Good morning, all!

I'm going into shock: I'm actially ahead of schedule in gifts, and I'm usually wandering around about now in utter desperation, I need to pick up a gift certificate from Barnes & Noble and do cards and cash for my postman and my super.

On the down side, I'm about to go into major financial angst lasting through January 15 when the estimated tax payment is due. After that I will be fine until April. The trick is getting through the next three weeks as gracefully as possible. If it's done with the same grace as my ageing, I am in serious trouble. So, if anyone's thinking of sending me something lovely, food would be good.

Luckily, there's work, and today I have a trek to Toyland to send two scores to our chief in California. I've got more trips to the NYPL looking for more information on two shows, and I've got a Jerome Moross film score as well as his musical GENTLEMEN BE SEATED to finish up here.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I'm looking forward to spending the next two days making Christmas confections - cookies and caramel corn.  Richard is in charge of dinner the next 2 nights.

The only 2009 films I saw were on DVD/Blu Ray - and of them my favorites are:

INGLORIOUS BASTERDS
PUBLIC ENEMIES
I LOVE YOU, MAN

DR LAURA - just to set your mind at ease, the children's Nativity reported in A SHORT HISTORY OF A SMALL PLACE holds the record for most disorganized.

It involved a visit to church of an older lady of the town, her monkey, a live donkey, and several sleepy angels with candles.

It is only topped by the story of the Hardware Store owner who wanted to make an American flag out of people wearing red, white, and blue baseball caps.

DR Ginny:  I think that you and DH Richard would really enjoy Mark Schweizer's Liturgical Mysteries - very funny books filled with droll Episcopal humor, music, and even murder mysteries to solve!!!    :D

Yes, Julie, we had a great time at the Volunteer party. It's why I posted so late (for me) last night at 12:27am. We got home about 20 minutes prior to that and we opened Vixmom's beautiful Christmas card.

Now we are getting ready for a trek to Long Island. We will be there until Saturday or Sunday.

Gotta pack.

Bye.

Good morning!

Another cold morning for my walk, but I wore a heavier jacket and it was fine. My ears didn't get cold, and neither did my hands, so it was good. It looked like it was going to be a cloudy day, but the gloom has left us, and what remains is a glorious December morning!

I have a Christmas party/dinner to attend tonight, so as far as my work project for the day is concerned, I'll get as much done on ALL ABOUT STEVE on Blu-ray as I can before I leave the house at 5:15. I'll likely not finish it up until tomorrow morning since there are quite a few bonus featurettes according to the back of the keepcase.

So, DR MBarnum, have you subscribed to STARZ yet for their new Spartacus series?

My best films of 2009 mix movies from 2008 that I am still catching up with along with some 2009 movies that I've seen on Blu-ray:

DOUBT
UP
MILK
(500) DAYS OF SUMMER
INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS
THE HANGOVER
STAR TREK
EVERY LITTLE STEP
TAKEN

I'm sure my DVR recorded last night's CASTLE rerun, but I may not get to it today. I think I'd rather see another MENTALIST episode while I eat my snack (since I'm going to have a heavy dinner tonight at the party).
