TOD:

Truth be told, 2009 was less than a brillaint year for me.  Nothing out-and-out bad happened to me but there has been a series of minor disappointments and I'm left with a general feeling of having just coasted through the year.  I'm hoping that 2010 will be much better (for everyone!)

One true bright spot was in meeting DR Jose for the very first time.  While my choice of venue for our lunch was less than ideal, his company more than made up for it.

So for me, 2010 has just GOT to be a better year!

Vibes for a much better, happy and healthy 2010 for DR Matt H.

Yes, indeed! And for all of us!

My 2009 high spot was FINIAN'S RAINBOW.

I had several low spots, the primary one being the poor health of July and August.

Well... It looks like I'm heading over to the Guggenheim to check out the Kandinsky exhibit this afternoon.  Well, right after noon, so...

My highlights of the year? Sure!

Brent Barrett, Brian Lane Green and Kevin Spirtas as The Broadway Tenors.

Mandy Patinkin and Patti LuPone doing their nationwide concert.

Mary Cleere Haran in The Rrazz Room.

Risi Competizione, first in class in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Corvette Racing and their new cars against Risi Competizione and its Ferrari.

My trip to New York to see the Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention.

Kristin Chenoweth and her concert in Scottsdale.

MR BK here are a couple of reviews of the car you are talking about.  I think it sounds like quite a deal - one unlikely to be matched especially in mileage by a dealer - and since you have the warranty - what's to worry?  Of course if you buy a black car, you will have to buy a fedora to wear while driving it.

Even with the Mercury retrograde in full swing - car buying is favored Monday and Tuesday - not so much Wednesday and Thursday where complications and misunderstandings could develop.

It's been an okay year.  Kept all of my old friends - made one or two new ones.

Lots of things to read - including DR DRUXY's book - if we've done books already, I am sorry I left it off my list.  GRRRRRR

DR MBARNUM - Miss Sally Mansfield was pretty bad on the Gene Autry episodes you sent me....whew!  And Sally Fraser was a bit better - I would guess the most serious acting they both had to do was to keep smiling while Fat Gene was singing to them.

Ya, not much to challenge anyone, acting wise, on that show, for sure! LOL!

and speaking of acting challenges, I saw a new credit on the IMDB for Miss Allison Hayes. Some obscure show titled CAPTAIN DAVID GRIEF. Looks like Ally appeared in an epside as a character named Melba. Not a very fitting name, if you ask me.

Never heard of this series....first run syndication.....probably ZIV....Allison was big with the ZIV gang.  And that series called Case of the Dangerous Robin is another one that is unknown to me.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm......I guess it was based on some Jack London stories and was a sea faring adventure series.....four episodes, but not Allison's are available.

I am back from an excruciating several hours in the emergency room.  I was awakened around 3:30 this morning by the most debilitating pain I  think I've ever experienced.  I thought for a moment I was experiencing some sort of Godzilla sized indigestion but quickly realized this was something worse.  I could barely breathe and thought I would, in BK's inestimable words, vomit on the ground.  A firetruck and an ambulance came, the firemen took my vitals and the ambulance driver took me off to the ER.  Unfortunately said ambulance driver was an idiot and took the most circuitous route to the hospital imaginable.  After a CAT scan it was determined that for the first time in my life I have several kidney stones and will probably be in this beleagured state for at least a day or two.  The ER doctor told me that kidney stones are the only ailment he treats where he's seen grown men cry, and women regularly say it hurts worse than childbirth.  I pray none of you ever have to experience this--it's really hideous.

So sorry to hear that.  My son had a kidney stone a couple of years back.  It was not fun.

And now for something completely different:

Birds on Broadway

I laughed 'til I cried!

Really.  A bird that sings show tunes.  Now WHERE have I heard that before? :)

Happy Birthday DR Julie!!

TOD - getting through 2009 was a chore.  Lots of changes at work (new pastor/boss etc), being a homeowner for a year
Highlights would have to be our production of The King and I which was such a joy to work on, and my trip to WDW with the DP.  Oh, and Christmas Eve Mass with a bigger choir (20) and instrumentalists, it was incredible.

Like most of you as it seems, I'm looking forward to a better 2010!!

Oh wow - how could I forget, the biggest highlight of 2009, our son Manny (now almost 8 months old) coming to live with us and his DD Uncle Otto.  Life with Manny as been challenging, but he's such a sweet dog and we love him to death- even Otto loves him on occasion!
