Well, you've read the notes, the notes were decisive, and now it is time for you to post until the decisive cows come home.

Good luck on the car-buying, BK. I hate to buy cars (although I enjoy having a new car).

Good morning, all! I wanted to be out of bed at 6:30 this morning so I went to bed at 10 pm. At 2:30 I was wide awake: the neighbor above me was walking around, dragging something around, and making a rather unneighborly racket for some time and that put me off my sleeping cycle. I mostly dozed between 3 and 6 am, when I finally fell into a deep sleep and dreamed, it was something about my last college roommate and other folk I cannot now identify. I haven't seen my roommate since his wedding in June, 1971, so I have no idea what prompted his appearance. When I woke, it was 7:45 and I figured the hell with it.

So, today, another trip to the post office to mail  CDs of the 9/18 John McGlinn memorial to several friends; the son of one of Evan McGlinn's friends taped the entire two and a half hour concert on his phone, and it sounds very good. Several of the singers, and John's sister Lorin, asked for copies, so I spent a couple of hours burning the CDs on Saturday. After that, the NYPL for more historic newspapaers online and more biographical work on Harold Sanford and Otto Langey.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to Our DR Julie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monday morning greetings!  Today I'm off to help my mother clear stuff out in preparation for her move.  We'll take clothing to the thrift shop.  She also needs to go to the grocery store and then I'm going to hang around out there until my cousin and his family arrive.

In other news...

When I stepped into my apartment, I heard this low buzzing, rattling noise. At first I thought it was my roommate's alarm clock - ??? - then I realized it was something in the living room.  Alas, I then realized it was the DVR.  The screen was stuck in "boot" mode, and as soon as I unplugged it, the buzzing and rattling stopped.  Then I plugged it back in again, more buzzing and rattling, then it stopped... But it never booted up.  So... I unplugged it again and left it unplugged while I took a shower.  Well...  I'm really not looking forward to switching out a DVR box during this holiday week.  Although, I have had some previous communications with some of the Time-Warner folks via Twitter... Hmm...

I'm listening to Elgar's "Enigma" variations; Variation No. 9 "Nimrod" leaves me a blubbering mess every time I hear it.
