And here's Joshie at Encores! with Michael Urie.

Josh is certainly adorable. Glad to read his conducting was a success.

We had good news today.  the carpet was found (it was in a truck that was stuck somewhere by the snow storm) and the workmen finished putting in the tack strip and the pad. So, they will definitely get the carpet in this week.  It's been very touch and go.  The guys were very nice today and volunteered to work New Years day and all weekend to finish it for me. Looks like they won't have to

Very good news, Cillaliz!

My first question for ASK BK day.....do you like The Smothers Brothers, did you watch their show?

How many of us remember The Smothers Brothers' sit-com wherein one of them was an angel?

I certainly remember the show - Friday nights at 9:30. I wouldn't have missed it for the world, and I was DEVASTATED when it got canceled. And I believe the ratings were OK. If they had used the term back then, THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS SHOW would have been "on the bubble."

I know when I watched Fish and Kyle finally get their evening together, I had some tears rolling down my cheeks. This was truly a monumental day in American soap opera history.

I had a pleasant evening of viewing. I began with THE VERDICT from Warner Archive. This is one of the better looking of the releases I have from them. Sure, there's dirt and some debris, but the grayscale is great and the picture is quite sharp. Audio track is full of flutter, but I'm just glad to have it at all.

When it was finished, I put in THE MAKING OF GONE WITH THE WIND. This two hour documentary is pretty definitive. I just wish they had shown us ALL of the screen tests in this release instead of the usual excerpts. I'd like to see every scrap of film on Vivien Leigh and Paulette Goddard.

I also think Selznick was hard on Jeffrey Lynn who gave a good reading of Ashley (Douglass Montgomery had some good moments in his Ashley scene, too), and he certainly would have been closer to the right age than Leslie Howard. Of course, he wasn't (and never would be) a star.

And I ended my evening watching MELANIE REMEMBERS, Olivia de Havilland reminiscing about her experiences on the movie. Pretty good, and I don't think I had ever watched this entire feature before.

I'm invited to a New Year's Eve party tomorrow night.  I'm hoping to car pool with someone.  The party is in a home with a long winding driveway and with the snow, parking will be a nightmare. I just sent an email to see if I can catch a ride with someone. I'm not too far out of the way, so I'm hoping someone will say yes

As most of you know, I like to play my cards close to the vest in terms of upcoming releases.  But, and this is not for publication ANYWHERE - here's a what if for you.  Most of you are aware that Ryko put out Promises, Promises on CD, which was then reissued by Varese five years ago (they just cloned the Ryko issue).  The What if is this: What if I could go in and remix the album and for the first time fix Jerry Orbach's and Edward Winter's pitchy vocals?  I would also include the original album mix - which, I think you'll find interesting, has NEVER been on CD.  I have found out that what Ryko put out was re-mixed and while they had the album as reference, it was remixed and therefore, no matter how close they got it, it is not the same.  I could never figure out why the Ryko was so disappointing to my ears, and now I know why - all new mix, all new EQ.  But the original album masters are in fine shape.  I would like to know your opinions on this.

I was also pretty disappointed with the last PP release (both with the sound and the unattractive cover.)

Count me in.

Thanks to all for the travel vibes for Mary Linda.  She arrived safely about an hour ago, very tired after a full workday and a 5-hour drive.  We all watched CSI: NY together and now everybody's crashing.

'night!

Well, I had better rassle a couple of doogies, and hit the rack.

Is that a euphemism? Something you do in your Cheyenne T-shirt?

All smutty kidding aside, @FiniansRainbow on Twitter has come up with a cute nickname for C.J. fanatics:  Cheyenne-tologists

Has anyone been follwoing this...

I heard about that, DR DakotaCelt.  Comcast's purchase of NBC Universal was probably the death knell for network-programmed broadcast TV.
