DR edisaurus - Glad to hear that you had a relatively uneventful flight back home.  I know you're going to be very busy over the next couple of days, but be sure to stop every now and then for a break.  -Maybe have a macaron, or a sip of hot chocolate.

I have had a macaron, or two. Seems that my DH doesn't like the ones with gold dust. And of course, we wouldn't want them to get stale....

(How can you not like the gold dust???)

Greetings from Atlanta! Thank you for all the travel vibes...it was a great flight, not even half full do I had a whole row to myself. The only bad thing was that when I decided to take advantage of this and slid over to the window, I grabbed the armrest and sliced open my finger. There was a sharp pointed piece of metal poking out. I reported it to the flight attendant so it could be fixed before the next passenger sat there, and she realized that someone had broken off one of those dual prong adaptors for the headphones and the pointy prongs were left in the armrest. Fortunately she had bandaids.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, I'm glad to be home with Greg and the kitties, even if it is colder than NY!

DR Edi, maybe you should make a slight stink about this to the airline management.  I think some kind of compensation might be in order...

They asked if I wanted to report it but I felt that it would be fine.

Today I wrestled a cat into a carrier with much more bloodshed...he left a big gash in my cheek and I led all over the carrier, my clothes, the cat. (He's very strong even when he's sick!) I'm thinking about suing him. I'm sure I'll have a scar...it was still bleeding when I got home.

OUCH!!!  Is your tetnus shot current?  If the cut is very deep you may want to talk to your doctor.  An infected cat scratch on your face wouldn't be pleasant.

Did you notice that they had put candles in the fireplace?  I had never seen that before.  They actually had a "specialty" grate with candle holders.  I had never seen that before either, LOL.

That's pretty common here, since it's usually not cold enough for fires. However, this week I wish our fireplace was working. It's unusually cold in Atlanta!

I did put on peroxide when I got home and then some antibiotic ointment. I'll hope for the best and go to the doc if it looks like a problem.

Nice shots of the potential new home environment, JMK.

A pool table, a sauna, and a tanning room. I may move in.

That's what the doc has always told me to do.

And finally, the steam room.  Does anyone still have a steam room?

Well, I have now gotten through all of today's posts.  I kept hoping I would come across one that said DAW leaving the site was a mistake.

I feel like I have lost a very dear friend.

By the way, thank you all for your concern yesterday about the apartment trying to ignite.  The circuit breaker remains off for now.  They will be coming in to fix the problem tomorrow.  I asked them to wait until I could be there, so that Nicky doesn't freak out.  I was supposed to be gone this evening, but I got hit with some terrible news yesterday, and decided to cancel my plans for this evening.

Good Evening!

Well... It was nice to get out of the apartment for a bit.  I wandered here.  I wandered there.  And then I came home.

And... Scene.

It's absolutely beautiful outside - blue sky and cloudless as far as the eye can see.

I wish I could say the same, but here it is grey, grey and more grey.

Will you eat in your car? Or just do the drive-thru?

Probably just the drive through so we can come home and eat and watch TV.

But then you won't be able to "use" the carhops on their roller-skates!
