maybe the sculpture should be removed from his reach.  is it a big sculpture?

Yes, it is a large piece. There's another large one that he likes, but it's in the living room, which DD is not allowed into. This one is in the hall. I'm not sure I'd be quite as blase as DD's owner.

DR ELMORE - the Finian's Rainbow souvenir book is so lovely.....I enjoyed reading it very much, and of course the photos are so great!!!!

Love those finale costumes......Mr Jackson's shirt and the whole suit is very nifty.  And Kate's first dress....the pink with the belt, is so flattering and such a lovely color.

And of course Og fills out his clothes nicely.

Sorry I've been out of it the last couple of days. Allergies here have made life miserable, and the dropping temperatures have only exacerbated things. I understand the need to just sleep. But I understand DR Elmore's fascination with the Altman biography. Great tribute to a fascinating filmmaker.
Life will get better through chemistry, I hope, and I'll be back in action soon.

Had a nice leisurely evening watching favorite films.

I began with BRIGADOON. I just love listening to those marvelous Salinger orchestrations. They just breathe romance and longing. I find them very moving.

Then I put in THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT III on Blu-ray. In many ways, it's my favorite of the three films since it has to bend over backwards to find interesting material apart from what had been used in the previous two films.

I saw my DVR recording shows starting at 8 and couldn't imagine what it was doing. When I finished movie watching, I turned it on and saw it was recording GLEE (I have it on SeasonPass). So, I deleted both the 8 and 9 p.m. episodes since I have them on DVD and don't need to rewatch them on the DVR (even if they are in HD and the DVD is not.)

No need to apologize, DR John G.  We here at HHW are well-versed when it comes to allergies and other sinus conditions.  Rest well. Sleep well. Get well.

But I watched MODERN FAMILY. Another screamingly funny episode. Ty Burrell steals every scene he's in. Benjamin Bratt looked pretty good. Enjoyed the running gags with the firemen. Jesse and Eric's scenes were also very funny.

I guess tomorrow I'll wait on CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN 2, and if it doesn't come, I'll take the day off. I'm expecting ADAM on DVD in the mail to review, but I doubt it arrives tomorrow.

OH!

I received word - well, an email - that I won yet another sweepstakes today.  This time round the prize is a $100 gift certificate for OXO products from Tasting Table.

Anyone need a salad spinner? ;)

I just saw the list of semifinalists for the Visual Effects Oscar nominations. Three nominees will be selected from these seven films:

AVATAR
DISTRICT 9
HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE
STAR TREK
TERMINATOR: SALVATION
TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN
2012

I've only seen two of those although I have TERMINATOR: SALVATION here (on  Blu-ray) and haven't gotten around to watching it.

Home from the Sonic Drive Thru.  I had the chicken club toaster and a frito wrap - yes, that's what I said, a frito wrap - it's like heaven.  I also got a Chocolate Cream Pie shake in honor of DR Laura, saving that for a little later.

Time to head home.  But first, I need to get some dryer fabric softener sheets.  I finally ran out this weekend.  I bought them when I still lived in the house that I rented from my sister and I still had a housemate.  I moved out of that a little over three years ago and my former housemate moved out more than FOUR years ago, so they lasted QUITE a long time. :o

I don't do a lot of laundry.  I'm all by my lonesome...and my former housemate had his own laundry supplies.

And I got them at Costco. :D
