Matt- I didn't see your review of FAME - what did you think?(maybe, if it is not too much trouble,  you could provide a link to your review if it has been posted)

I loved the orignal when it came out---- I hav'nt seen it in 25 years or whatever so I don't know if I would still connect to it the way I didn then .... I was thinking of showing it to the Vixter - how did you feekl they compared one to the other?

Here's the link to the review:

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/forum/thread/297113/htf-blu-ray-review-fame-2009-extended-dance-edition#post_3650209

The original is the better film. This one was rated PG and has less cursing and edgy subject matter than the original though structurally they're the same, and two songs from the original are incorporated into the new one.

I'm going to hop off-line now and get some writing done. Then, I'll head back down to complete the work project and enjoy some skating.

So, DR MBarnum, I've got a new singer for you: Spain's Rafa Martin.

I have no idea what his music's like, but i suspect from the photos he could be one of your favorite singers even if he were tone deaf.

Maybe there are two Rafa Martins? I think this one may be a physique model (duh!). Well, DR MBarnum still wouldn't care if he sang in quartertones.

to me, that stomach is disgusting.

PORK BUTTS IN THE SMOKER really ought to be the title of someone's new something.

I've written about eight pages, but because I had to move something from really early on in the book to a later section and then condense it a little, the page count does not reflect the eight pages.  And I'm jiggy with that.  I have just finished the major portion of the Susan Dey story and have moved on to a new chapter.

My daughter's best friend will be here soon to take possession of my daughter's new motor car, which is my old motor car.  I believe all paperwork has been filled out but now there is the little matter of cleaning out the trunk of the car, which is going to take quite some time as I don't want to just box it all up, but want to trash everything I don't need.

Where has the day gone! It is 4 pm already and I have done nothing.

Right now I am watching a 1958 Bollywood movie titled FASHIONABLE WIFE. I am also getting hungry, but am too lazy to fix anything. And yet I don't want to starve.

too bad you couldn't have taken a trip & delivered it yourself.  it might have been fun.

I'm sure Bruce already saw my comments at the film music board, but I give him all my praise for rescuing Islands in the Stream.

Interesting to hear the next release is a Stu Phillips title!

I palced an order for four CDs on Screen Archives yesterday - Islands in the Stream by Jerry Goldsmith, Daybreakers by Christopher Gordon, The Prophecy by David C. Williams, and Great Composers: Georges Delerue, a 2CD compilation released by Varese Sarabande.
