der Brucer

i can eat a little on a sandwich but i don't like it mixed into anything.  instead of mayo on bread i spread a little soft avocado.  is avocado on your new diet?  it is supposedly a good fat.

Wow . they cut away from Lea in mid sentence to go to Ryan with Sandra Bullock.

HOWEVER, Miss Sandra Bullock was very lovely - well, not the hair - and said some very gracious and nice things.....

Several rescue planes with supplies and medical personnel have been denied permission to land in Haiti - including two from Doctors Without Borders - they have been redirected to the Dominican Republic and then supplies transferred by truck resulting in a 24 hour delay in delivering help.

Diverting the first flight might put a 24 hour delay in the first phase of establishing the new medical facilities, but it will then take future pressure off of the airport because all the follow-on planes can be diverted and the new pipeline can flow smoothly.

Much of the airpost log jam has been caused by private international charters delivering VIPs for their photo-ops of offering aid!

interesting perspective on the diversion-thanks.  i was surprised doctors without borders was diverted because i thought they were already established there.

while listening to news of hillary's trip there keith kept groaning.  when i reminded him she would be taking american's home with her he pointed out if she weren't on the plane there would be more room for those stranded. ;D  i hope she really does make a difference.

If Secretary of State Clinton had not flown to Haiti, there would be one less plane for the survivors.

Is the GG live on the west coast?  Is this one where we don't have to use spoilers or worry that they haven't seen it yet?

Happy anniversary to DR Ginny & DH Richard.  In lieu of cake, I had an oats and apple fiber bar in your honor.

Up In the Air wasn't at all what I expected.  Since a lot of it is centered around Omaha (which is very close to us), there were many extra chuckles in the audience about references to Omaha and Nebraska

I've never seen so many women just wearing their hair down and straight.  I'm assuming that's in part because of the weather

If the Golden Globes are live, let's have lots of reports on them, since I have no intention of actually watching them.  Let's have the best globes on all the Internet.

I do recommend UMCOR as a donation beneficiary.  They've been in Haiti for years and years.

Watching my second Sopranos episode of the day.  It's been lightly raining for the last two hours.  By the time I realized it, it was too late to put the car back in the garage.

I added the Happy Days stuff where it belonged, so I've now done a little over ten pages.  Tomorrow I pass 200 pages of manuscript.

I have only noticed in all of Hilly's comments - and her husband's as well - they talk about the time they spent in Haiti for some reason or another and the connections they have there...it's always about them.

Haiti is all about the voodoo.....connection or no?
