That's cool, I really didn't care as I didn't see any of the films except "Avatar" and I wasn't a big fan anyway

Tonight's GG par-tay was fun.  The 5:30am wake-up call I had this morning has caught up with me, though - 'night!

How many Foreign Press members did James Cameron have to F*** to win Best Picture. I Saw Avatar as an okay piece of entertainment it is far the best picture.

And Robert Downey won as a comedy actor. I didn't think Sherlock Holmes was a comedy

I just came back from watching my niece skate. My gosh there were so many people at the rink it was crazy.  She is taking skating lessons. And has gotten pretty good.

roller or ice?

I don't think there is such thing as roller skating lessons.  Ice skating is very big (she is taking ice skating lessons).

I only use Hellmann's light (the light blue label). I much prefer it to the others (regular or low fat).

I didn't like how the handled the rain during the Red Carpet.

Couldn't they have put a tent up.  Or at least a very small covering for where they were doing the interviews. OR at the very least they should have had a big umbrella like Paul McCartney had.  It sort of ruined looking at the dresses for me.

My niece called me at 7:45pm and said she was watching a parade. I was wondering what she was talking about then she clarified "a parade of dresses". She was watching the red carpet!

And could i guess her favorite dress. Her favorite color is purple. So she chose sandra bullock's dress!

I'm a bit tipsy from all the wine at the birthday party, but let's talk about the closing today first. The show was stopped five times today and probably lasted about 10 minutes l0onger than usual. the five showstopping moments: "Glocca Morra," "If This Isn't Love," "Necessity," "The Begat," and "When I'm Not Near The Girl I Love." Terri White got a standing ovation from some of the audience at the end of "Necessity" and Chris Fitzgerald's ovation for his number went on so long that he had to carry Susan around the set with Finian following him until they could get back into position to ontinue the scene. As soon as the finale ended the audience rose in unison and the whole bows and exit march were played to a standing ovation. There were funny variations to the bows; tonight rather than just give each other an odd look, Chuck Cooper and David Schramm, as the black and white Senator Rawkins, gave each other a huge hug. I cried at every number and the cast was dynamite as though saying screw you to the naysayers that helped kill such a fantastic production. I sat on the steps to the mezzanine with Warren Carlyle our wonderful director, his girlfriend, Tripp the stage manager, two production assistants and Maia one of our company managers. It was a spectacular exit with panache and artistry.

I then met Bruce Pomahac who was in the audience and we went to dinner at the Westside Diner before heading back to his place to chill out. Ted Chapin joined us there and we headed down to Rob's birthday party on 13th Street at the spectacular Hotel Gansevoort. There were a large number of people I like: Joshie, Kerry O'Malley, Steven Bogardus, David Zellnik, Kate Baldwin, cellist Peter Sachon, Peter Foley, David Gursky, Rob's partner Chase, his parents, a lot of great folk and a few I am not fond of, particularly Ted Sperling, who's only cordial when he feels like it and clearly didn't tonight, and Bruce Coughlin. I really liked talking to Mark Bruni who's directing FANNY for Encores! and several others whom I really cannot name because I'm too tipsy!

So where is Jennifer?  Is she watching without attending the party?

Yep. My computer and tv are not in the same room!

Monique wins best actress for Precious

Supporting Actress, I believe. Not unexpected. And likely the Oscar winner, too.

My favorite moments of the awards were:

Meryl Streep winning and her speech.

I was so happy that Glee won.

Also very happy that sandra bullock won (although i have not seen the film she won for).

I liked that michael C hall and john lithgow won for Dexter. I am still reeling from the last show of this season.

Toni Collette looks great. I like her, haven't seen that show, but glad she won

She won the Emmy, too. Now if she grabs the SAG next weekend, she'll have the triumverate.

OK, as requested, some photos from 29 years ago today.  I've not been able to figure out how to use my scanner, so I just pointed the camera at the album - hope they turn out OK:

Nice wedding pictures, Ginny!

Too many men with big beards and long hair. I know some are for roles. But i am not liking any of them (not even george clooney).

I was also happy that julianna margulies won for the Good Wife (even though i like a lot of the women in that category). But i am just really liking the show and think she is great.

I like when the whole country sees the show at the same time!  It makes for a good partay here.

For those of you who were watching it live. ::)
