With the telethon coming on tonight on the broadcast networks (and several cable channels), this will enable me to watch some of the TV I've got stored up on the DVR (see Friday Media Check below).

I noticed that CBS is showing MEDIUM at 10 after the telethon, but it's a repeat episode, not a new one.

My work project today will be the Blu-ray of PARIS, TEXAS. I liked the way the DVD looked, so the Blu-ray should be quite wonderful. Looking forward to it even though the movie is long.

Yes, the talk of those Universal DVD-Rs yesterday:

I haven't ordered yet, but I'm most anxious to get RESURRECTION, THE LIST OF ADRIAN MESSENGER, and GAMBIT. Interested to hear about their quality from those who get them first.

Good morning, all. The day here in San Antonio is covered in a blanket of fog with a light drizzle to keep it from being too romantic. It got up into the 70s yesterday, though, which was a blessing, though the allergens are still sweeping through the air and I remain heavily medicated to get me through the day.

TOD:
DVD: Foyle's War, Season 4
Car CD: "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," excellent mystery
Home CD: "Simply Sondheim," British "Company."

I know that this makes me really old, but back in my mid-20s, I recall being on the set of GAMBIT, watching MacLaine & Caine film a scene together.

Friday morning greetings!  This evening we will attend DN (dear niece) and goddaughter Lauren's 21st birthday party - well the dinner half for family, anyway.  From 9pm on it's a drinking party for the young folks, so we'll bail before that begins.

You're a lucky man! I think this is one of the 1960s most underappreciated movies.

I guess I'm finished with my morning internet surf and need to head downstairs and get cleaned up for my usual Friday outings.

Oy! I am not in the least happy about an email from ten minutes ago.  I should have known the resignation yesterday would blow up in my face, and I have the feeling I'm sittng on the edge of a Vesuvius at the moment. Perhaps everything will work itself out but I wish people would return their calls when you ask them to!

DR Jose---is there any hot chocolate in NY that is approaching the yumminess of City Bakery near Omni Berkshire? I am going to need some comfort, I am afeard....

Hmmm... Good question.  That stretch of Madison Avenue is very business, hotel and residence heavy.

You're right between the two ING Direct Cafés on the East Side - 49th & Madison, 58th & 3rd.  They have decent hot chocolate, but their main draw is the $2 Peet's Coffee.

You could head over to Rockefeller to Maison du Chocolat for their hot chocolate which is pretty tasty.

FIKA Espresso Bar on 58th Street between 5th & 6th Avenues also has a good hot chocolate plus some good snacks, sandwiches and chocolates.

You could also walk down to one of the 'wichcraft locations.  They have great hot chocolate, and usually feature some "special flavors".

I just had a nice phone call with a realtor in my hometown; now, if I can only convice Macbeth and Randy to seriously listen to what he has to tell them. Hmmmm . . .

I'm awake, it's still raining cats and dogs.  Speaking of which, the dogs hate the rain, so I decided to take some of the morning off to be with them before I head out for the rest of the day.

The unpleasant situation will have much bad fallout, which was not my intention when I resigned. Dealing with the Macbeths is a pinch compared to the other.

Well, this morning I go up to go to work but my get up and go said "No way, buddy!" so I'm still at home.  My input and output seems to have normalized and there are no more aches and pains, but I'm still feeling kind of feh! so one more day of rest and avoiding as much daytime tv as I can.

I am definately ordering RESURRECTION--it's been on my wish list for years.  Also considering THE BRASS BOTTLE AND 40 POUNDS OF TROUBLE...
