I don't usually notice where my posts are landing on a page, but this time I did happen to notice #29 so I knew a page turn was next.

I am expecting WHIP IT on Blu-ray at some point this week, but until it arrives (I didn't hear the UPS this morning; I'll check later), I'll start on J.A.G.'s last season box set (22 episodes). If WHIP IT comes during the three days it'll take me to do J.A.G., I'll just put the TV show aside and do WHIP IT since J.A.G. doesn't come out until February 9th.

I have never seen any of these J.A.G. episodes. Once CBS moved it from Tuesday to Friday nights, I stopped watching (I was still going out on Friday nights back then).

A mix of reruns and new episodes on the TV slate tonight!

Some reminders:

WHITE COLLAR's new episode at 10 p.m. on USA.

New episode of BETTER OFF TED is at 8:30 since ABC is using the last two hours of prime time to repeat LOST's two-hour season 5 finale. This is in anticipation of the show's return for its last season next Tuesday.

New NCIS episode finds Tony and Ziva trying to solve a mystery on an in-air flight. I always love these kinds of episodes.

A much nicer day here today than yesterday.  The winds have quieted down -- they were extreme yesterday.  They had to completely shut down a several black radius in lower Manhattan because the wind was ripping debris off buildings and construction zones, and it became too dangerous for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

In regard to THE MUSIC MAN's repurposed 5.1 soundtrack: I haven't seen the Blu-ray (I wasn't lucky enough to be offered it to review), but the reworkings of stereo masters to make a surround experience varies from movie to movie. I think GYPSY sounds grand, for example.

I've never thought the sound quality for the soundtrack album for THE MUSIC MAN was ever especially immersive. The sound always seemed kind of clipped and reserved in terms of the orchestrations and resonance, and there never seemed to be enough bass in the mix.

However, I can't wait to hear the lossless soundtrack on the Blu-ray. Perhaps it will have a wider sound though, admittedly, I just think it's one of those tracks that just doesn't measure up to some others from the same era.

Yep, the wind was truly whipping away yesterday - especially in the morning.  I ended up getting wonked in the head a few times by my own umbrella whenever I would get caught in a good gust of wind.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I stayed in bed until this morning's nurse was here and now I'm enthroned in my "haven," where I can sit up in a chair with my feet propped up.  It's much more comfortable than lying in bed and totally sanctioned by my caregivers.

On the subject of the DVD Savant, I stopped reading him some months ago. I can't even recall now which review it was that I felt was so unfair and objectionable, but it was enough to make me leave the site forever. He's never been especially attuned to musicals anyway.

I have quite a bit of TV on the DVR to choose from to watch while I eat lunch. CASTLE and DAMAGES from last night and I still haven't gotten to THE OFFICE though a friend told me it was mostly a clip show last week.

I guess I need to finish up a few things upstairs and then head down to check the mail, think about lunch, and get busy viewing some stuff for fun and work.

A couple of TV Notes I forgot to mention:

SUPERNATURAL has been renewed for another season (even though it was announced last year that this would be the final season)!

SURVIVOR and THE AMAZING RACE have both been picked up for additional plays. SURVIVOR was renewed for two more seasons and THE AMAZING RACE for one.

Vibes for Ginny.  Hope you are able to get back on your feet very quickly.

Thanks, DR Julie!  I'm probably restricted for at least another 36-48 hours, because they're not doing a blood test to determine my I&R until tomorrow morning.  And it usually takes until the end of the day to get the results and a reaction from the doctor's office.

I remember the exclusive original first run of The Music Man at the Paramount (now the El Capitan) - I saw the film there at least six times and I can tell you that the stereo soundtrack was incredible - robust, loud, and very immersive.  The home video versions have never come close to recreating that sound.

I'm up.  We were told of a great rainstorm coming last night and today.  Funny, it didn't rain at all last night, and the sun appears to be out this morning.  Funny.

For me, the following are amongst the greatest child performances ever:

Patty Duke - The Miracle Worker
Patrica Gozzi - Sundays And Cybele
Henry Thomas - ET
Brandon de Wilde - Shane

Good Afternoon!

-I have to say that I always get a little kick out of how much more responsive our property manager is after a call or two to the landlord's office.

DR Ginny - Do you have to sleep in any special position and/or with extra pillows to control your motion while you sleep?
