matt h, i read Disney will continue the miramax brand.  i really meant to ask to what extent will your work be affecting.  you review so much it seems losing miramax would make a small dent in your viewing.

We agree on HUMAN TARGET & WHITE COLLAR.  I haven’t washed BONES yet.  Keith finally gave up on the show & of course I thought last week’s episode was the first good one in a long, long time.

DR Jose - I need some DC advice.  ALA is there in June and I'm looking for lodgings that don't cost an arm and a leg, that are near the convention hotels or Metro Green/Yellow lines, and that are safe for me to stay in alone.  Richard has to be in NW Indiana at the same time on church business.  When I say near conv. hotels, that could be convention center area, Scott Circle, Thomas Circle, or L'Enfant Plaza.  Any suggestions?

I just had a nice call from DS Rob, who's house-sitting in Michigan.  He took his EMT national certification exam today, so we're both waiting anxiously for test results.

Sad to hear about the Pasadena Playhouse. Besides the actors, a lot of good shows got their start there, too.

He should know by the middle of next week - and thanks for the vibes!

Rob's now the only one waiting for test results.  My doctor just called to tell me that my INR today is 2.2, so I'm off the shots and just on Coumadin and no longer required to stay immobile.  I'm a VERY happy camper!!!

Oy, I just got the rudest and most peculiar email.  I responded to a CL ad asking for a wedding musician who knew "at least something" about Jewish ceremonies.  I emailed back with my background and a link to my site, and now almost a week later got this completely cryptic, rude email from the guy which a) doesn't make sense and b) is completely uncalled for.  Guess I won't be playing that gig, even if he asks me.  ;)

DR Ginny - The whole DC hotel circuit goes crazy in the summer because of tourist season, so... To start off, just see what you can book now at the major hotel chains, see if any of them are giving discounts for booking and paying in advance.

Marriott has various properties - in all their "tiers" - around the Convention Center, so a Courtyard may be reasonable.  The Hotel Monaco - part of The Kimpton Group - is nicely located, and sometimes has some great rates.

I'll do some more research...

Very sad about The Pasadena Playhouse. Many of my interviewees got their starts there, along with many of my other favorite performers.

Hi George,

getting close to rehearsals ?

We start rehearsals on March 15...so there's still a month and a half to go.

I still remember seeing Lies & Legends: The Musical Stories of Harry Chapin there back in 1988(!) with George Ball, John Herrera, Amanda McBroom, Ron Orbach and Valerie Perri.  *And that's where Amanda and George fell in love - at least that's her story. ;)

Thanks, DRs Jose and George!  Even though I've been given the "green light" to move about, I'm going to take it somewhat easy through the weekend.

And thanks, too, Jose for the hotel info about DC.  We have a Kimpton connection that I may try to tap.
