Well, needless to say, I agree with Ron about the media.  It's certainly one of the reasons I don't watch - I used to watch occasionally back in the 1970s and 1980s.  For me, the media's horrifying, unprofessional, and maniacal behavior has ruined just about everything.

I'm up, CDs are here and it's weird they won't be going out today, save for the one big online dealer that goes UPS in the original boxes.

What to do with the rest of the day? Write? Job applications? Or the dreaded house cleaning I've put off for several months now? When the homestead starts looking like Grey Gardens, it wins out. At least until I spot a raccoon chewing through one of the walls.

Well, checks are delivered, I did a nice deal with my regular CL buyer who gets my old, unwanted DVD's and BD's, so I have a rather massive wad o'$ in my pocket, it's a gloriously sunny day here, and life is good.  Why not make it better by buying my house?  :)

Speaking of houses that look like Grey Gardens, I was amused to read an interview in a Classic Film magazine with Marsha Hunt, where she more or less repeats what she wrote to me privately about visiting Frances Farmer and Leif Erickson's Laurel Canyon bungalow and being appalled by number of cats, not to mention stacks of books everywhere.

Uh oh. I got the stacks and stacks of books, too. But I actually admire that in people's homes -- that is, if the owners actually read them.

They did show the entire skating here. But i don't think the last 2 groups started before 10pm or 10:30pm. So you probably got the exact same feed the showed on the east coast just time delayed.

DR RonP, what you wrote about the US athletes i don't think applies in canada. There are no athletes who are pressured to win the way it seems they are in the US.

There is no new Ghost Whisperer or Medium tonight. Although I see Smallville is new. And we have White Collar on fridays which was new this week.

Maybe part of the reason I see the Olympics differently is the non-media coverage here. We don't have anything like what was described.

Tonight there is the start of ice dancing (which used to be my favorite). And skeleton, which canada is supposedly very good at.

What happened?  Did I run everyone off?

Not me. I went to Lowe's to get some peat moss.

Late yetsreday afternoon I had a great phone call from a friend on the grisly project I left. His advice was: bail and get over it.  I am going to take his advice to forget about it. I gambled, lost, resigned, and then stupidly got myself caught up in it again.  Getting over it will take much longer because of the broken friendships and bad taste in my mouth.

I'm very relieved to know you are taking your friend's advice.  VIBES with time some of those broken friendships will mend.

Awwww.....maybe everyone is out watching some MSNBC Olympics coverage of a hockey match, or luge, or curling, or one of the Nordic disciplines....

I've been reading everyone's comments about the olympics and national pride.  Maybe it's slightly different in canada. But we don't have athletes like lindsey vonn who are promotional machines.  And here it IS a matter of national pride, and not only because the olympics are in canada.  Maybe when a country is used to winning so many medals it is not as exciting.  But here we can always count them on our hand and remember who won each one.  Yesterday it was thrilling to see the top female long track speed skater actually win in her event (1000m). I'm glad I saw it.

Wasn't it exciting when it seemed the whole world was cheering Elizabeth Manley at the 88 Olympics?  That is the spirit I love, when the enthusiasm for a competitor goes beyond national pride.

I am awake.  Very little discomfort.  Very little.  Dixie and I have had a walk, she's full of piss and vinegar this morning - she jumped up onto Mum's bed, she jumped up onto my bed while I was putting my pants on for the walk AND she jumped major snow heaps to get to places she wanted to go in the yard and driveway.  Maybe tomorrow, I'll take her for one of the long walks at the shopping center or the drainage authority.

:) Good news & glad Dixie is a happy girl.  lol-of course I don't believe for one second you will take you will take her to one of those "special" places tomorrow.

Today I drop off many checks to our CU to prepare for the "big purchase" next week.  We go to the title company on Wednesday to sign papers, and the loan is officially funded a week from today (to minimize owed interest, which is not making the sellers happy, but tough noogies).  Now we just need to unload this house pronto.  Who wants to move to Portland?  ;)

No rest for the sick.

FEEL BETTER VIBES!!!

I hate when that happens.  I also hate when I am the only one posting, over & over again.
