Nice....but what was the point....if you do that for ONE director who passes on.....aren't you slighting many more?

And could Taylor Lautner look any more bored?

The only person looking more bored is George Clooney's "girlfriend."

I was surprised by the length of that tribute, too, even though it was nicely done.

I'm very glad Up won -- I really loved that one.

The sound on the show is awful.  However, it looks very good in high-definitions.

I totally agree.

As I wrote in today's notes, I was very impressed with District 9, and have been surprised that no one here has commented, which would lead me to believe that no one here has seen it.

I saw "District 9" and liked it very much!

And talking about smug, how about all those YOUNG "actors" they cut to after the Hughes tribute - they looked ever so bored because - wait - THEY DON'T KNOW WHO JOHN HUGHES WAS!

Are all commercials loud?  Or just these horrifying promos.

That's what the mute button is for. :D

Chris Pine played Captain Kirk in the latest STAR TREK movie, I think.

And he was born on August 26, 1980 - making him a birthdate TWIN with DR JOSE and I!
