Now, I have some office duties to perform, and then I'll head down and begin some leisure viewing before starting on lunch preparation.

I watched PRECIOUS last night.

A brilliant film, but so shocking and depressing.

Why are people like Mo'Nique's character allowed to live?

Well, here's the latest unbelievable scam.  We got a call at 7:30 this morning asking whether our house was for rent.  The lady had seen a Craig's List ad with our address and data, but the email she got back was from some guy in Africa asking for first & last month's plus a security deposit.  She did a trio to get our info and called.  The posting has since been flagged for removal, but she's sending me the African guy's email and I am reporting this to the police, not that they can do anything about it.

Is the guy in Nigeria?

BK question:

Last night I watched an amusing film from 1976 titled NORMAN...IS THAT YOU?

The movie featured 3 very good young actors and I am wondering if you ever came across them during your stint in 1970s Hollywood?

Michael Warren

Dennis Dugen

Vernee Watson

All three are still very active as actors, by the way, with Vernee appearing on last season's SOUTHLAND  few times.

I am very curious as to what BK will think of BLACK DYNAMITE. I watched it a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it very much. A nicely done spoof of the Blaxploitation films of the 70s.

And of course Michael Jai White is certainly nice to look at!

JRand, I think you might especially enjoy this film. Here is the trailer;

And I will be leaving the office shortly to go get my echo cardiogram.  WHile it's a much easier test than the stress test, I hate having to contort myself on the examination table so they can get a good picture.

Dennis was someone I ran into a lot during the 1970s - more importantly, I was with the authors of Norman, Is That You last night.

Well, I just watched the first half of last night's "American Idol", and I think I can say: "Buh-bye".  What a truly generally lackluster, non-special bunch of finalists this year. Yes, there are some front-runners, but they are outweighed by the number of average to mediocre vocalists.  Just no real competition this season - at least for me.  It's looking like this season will truly be a "popularity" contest rather than a "talent/popularity" one.

Yes, very sad about Corey Haim.  He was VERY talented but VERY troubled.

I know many folks have different views on the subject, but I hope he has found some peace...at least more than he knew as a drug-addicted teen/young man/adult.

And here is YET ANOTHER instance of the deluded, too-pathetic-for-words Lindsay Lohan doing stupid things to keep herself "current".

I find her extremely unsympathetic in every respect.  Her 15 minutes were over YEARS ago!

LOVE the ad, but never once did I think of Lohan while watching it.  And IS SHE a one-name phenom?  Does "Lindsay" mean only Ms. Lohan?

Sad, sad, sad.  Even sadder, the press gives her the attention she so brazenly courts.

She doesn't have a chance.  If they'd used the name Michael could Michael Jackson sue?  Of course not.  If they used the name George could George Clooney sue?  Of course not.  If they used the name Kim could Pamela could Pamela Anderson sue?  Well, any of them could sue but they wouldn't get ver far and probably wouldn't be that stupid in the first place.

And speaking of stupidity...

I guess she's lucky she wasn't wounded in the crash; God knows how her boyfriend would have reacted to the scars as well as a lousy shave.!
